Help! Design Dilemma for long narrow living room
Comments (1)If you installed it replacing the window, then you could turn your sectional around to the opposite end of the room and it would work where the tv presently is and have a nice view of the new fireplace. Move your furniture around now and imagine the fireplace there. See if it works....See MoreHelp! Can't figure out design layout for long, narrow living room!
Comments (12)Is this space intended to be used as a dining room as well, or is there a separate dining room. I also assume the door will be the main point on entry. If the door is main entry and this space is just a living room then I would place an open book case to serve as a landing pad. Other corner across for door is other location. I would place TV console on wall same side as door. Float the sofa directly across from the TV and use the are behind as your walkway. should be room for a chair or two 90 degrees from sofa....See MoreTwo sofas or one sofa and 2 chairs in narrow living room w/ fireplace

You might invest in some graph paper for drawing the room to scale -- or print it out drawn to scale -- and then invest in some heavier card stock to cut out the size and shape of each piece of furniture you already have so you can move the pieces around on the floor plan without lifting furniture (and/or invest in sliders). A sectional limits the options for furniture placement and, if any part of it is stained or damaged then you're needing to replace a lot of seating or live with it....See Moreeverdebz
