I think, screw that rule and get as wide a mirror as you are able. I'm planning to put a 48x30 mirror over my 56" vanity. So far I've found nothing already made that I like or in my budget. Went to my local glass shop and they will make a 1/4" thick mirror, 48x30, unfinished edges, no bevel for $90. To bevel all around (I forget how wide) it's $145 for the mirror. I bring in my own frame and they charge $20 to put the mirror in the frame. They said, the frame comes first. Makes sense. I can get whatever size frame I need via pictureframes.com for under $100.

We have a Grohe rainhead shower, and I've never had a problem with it not being able to clean my hair. It has a large surface area; so, may be that helps? We also have a handheld in the shower, but we hardly ever use it. My hair is fairly thick and long, and I've never had a problem. My sister used to live in a 12th floor condo, and she had a Grohe rainhead too. Something about how the plumbing was set up in the old building, but it meant that the water pressure got worse the higher you were up in the building. So, in her apt., I had issues with the water pressure from the rainhead.

Can't post a picture, but definitely have a miniscule BR. When I moved in here in July, I had to scrap the existing toilet, put in a cute little wall hung new sink (the orig. was so big you couldn't use the toilet without nudging the sink), and stripped all the $*%(*# old plastic tile off the walls, the awful tub surround and worse flooring. I now have a really nice new floor (sheet vinyl, but a beautiful one that looks like desert sand and matches the outer hallway), a new tub surround, and have otherwise left the tub alone. I put in 'paintable' wallpaper with a little swirly-ish pattern and painted the whole thing (a lighter tone on the top half) and added my own shower curtain and very 'plain' (but nice and new) med. cabinet. It's all very simple and clean now, and at least I don't collide with the sink anymore! The trick is to go 'minimal' of course, but then I live alone and don't have to please anyone else. I do have a very large linen closet (shelving in a cupboard) right outside, so only have a little shelf beside the sink for a cup, tissues, etc. A vanity wouldn't fit - or I know I wouldn't want to try!
