Please vote-which do you like better?
Comments (44)well I have to go with the corals since I have a 6yr old and if there is not some kind of pink in there she would freak out and wouldn't have anything to do with it. (personally I LOVE the greens and blues) which is what we had in her nursery but she turned 3 and her brain turned to pink and pink only which meant we had to turn around and redo her room.. Lesson learned...See MoreCan you tell me which mirror you prefer for this space please?
Comments (37)nosoccermom, I would be happy to go with a large piece of artwork instead, but I thought because this area doesn't get as much natural light, a mirror would work. The sun that comes in the windows on the opposite side of the room could reflect off the mirror. My living area and dining area are open to each other. justgotabme, thanks for the ideas. If the frames on the mirrors are painted a color close to the buffet, it would tie in with the buffet and also the thingamajiggers on the mirrors themselves. tuesday, I think black on the frames would look good too. I think that would look even better than the brown. Yes, to the more substanial looking centerpiece. I will have to look for Trailrunners post. Thank you. Comments (32)lisa- Thank You for throwing it out there. I like to look at different ideas b/c in the end once we decide we'd like to feel confident that we explored our options! I thought the basement part might work but right away my dh pointed out that it makes it really hard to bring large things downstairs with the curve. (We have that now and its very difficult) In the Dining Room, would those buffets have cabinetry above for dish storage, etc? I like it b/c I was thinking tall cabinetry without the counter space but that would be nice : ) I definitely "get" what you're saying about banquettes not being for everyone. We plan to be here 10 years and if that works out maybe much longer. My husband and I do like the banquette idea especially b/c it keeps the area open from kitchen to DR and it's just a different "look" for us. We'd only use the bench side when we have a larger amount of people. That being said we're still open to not doing it if we think it won't work. Also, couldn't a new buyer just take out the built in seat if they don't like it and turn it back to a traditional DR? I'm not asking that sarcastically but it wouldn't seem the worst of things. OR- we could do a separate piece of furniture that's not built in too right? I think someone said Ballard has them. IF anyone sees others let me know. I know they have great fabrics that are kid friendly too : ) I wonder how long they come? THANKS EVERYONE! I so love this : )...See MoreWhich paint color do you like better? Please vote
Comments (29)Well, IMO, the artwork you posted, of the wine bottles, is perfect for the PS. I think your kitchen right now is SO monotone that the brown/green in the PS will actually give it some life, some warmth. My suggestion would be to get a sample pine and paint as much of the kitchen using the sample paint as you can (you can probably paint the entire kitchen with it). then live with it for a week, and see how you feel about it. You might not like it at first as it will be a change (although not a dramatic one!). I kind of get the feeling you're hesitant to make a move because of that, which leads me to believe your first instinct will be to regret any change (which also explains why your first choices of paint color were so darn close to what you've got there now!). At any rate, the brown/green of the PS will definitely be better than the pink of the Twine! I really like the way the PS shows in that inspiration pic of the bathroom. and it will be great with your countertops too....See MoreJustDoIt
