Please vote - which granite do you like more with my cabinets?
Comments (54)This is sort of like asking what everyone's favorite ice cream is...but I really like the first one best. I think it has a quiet elegance about it with your cabinets and you could have more fun with the backsplash and accessories. To my eye, the second one is too mustardy, but then I did everything I could to keep from getting a lot of yellow in my granite, while I am sure there are others here who strove for that as a goal. So I guess I'm not much help... P.S. I laughed when I read your comment about your husband getting tired of all the indecisiveness and losing the will to live. My husband and I were in Lowes and I was stressing over picking out door hardware...Paul kept telling me to "hurry up and pick something out and let's go!" Finally I snapped back at him and said something like "Just because YOU don't care if the kitchen looks like it was thrown together without any thought... well I do!" Then he said "It only took me fifteen seconds to pick out the garbage disposal!" At which point, I almost pushed him down in the hardware aisle and I spat "Dear God, no one SEES the #@*# garbage disposal!" That was the closest we have come to actual remodeling violence, but I just had to share... Good luck on the counters and have fun! :) Cathy...See MorePlease Vote Which do you prefer?
Comments (58)Love #1. Kingston Brass? I have it but with the lever handles. It seems a good quality, is noted on the large side but not overly so, imo. That said, seeing your vanity etc I think the more tailored modified version of #3 is a better fit from what I can gather from your styling of the bathroom. It is simpler and more masculine, to the point like the handsome bath . #1 is quite feminine for the above bathroom, imo. I also think the sleek modern one at 17:43 would look good but like the feel of the other with the old world natural limestone. PS. The higher arcs are more comfortable, imo. Comments (37)nosoccermom, I would be happy to go with a large piece of artwork instead, but I thought because this area doesn't get as much natural light, a mirror would work. The sun that comes in the windows on the opposite side of the room could reflect off the mirror. My living area and dining area are open to each other. justgotabme, thanks for the ideas. If the frames on the mirrors are painted a color close to the buffet, it would tie in with the buffet and also the thingamajiggers on the mirrors themselves. tuesday, I think black on the frames would look good too. I think that would look even better than the brown. Yes, to the more substanial looking centerpiece. I will have to look for Trailrunners post. Thank you. Comments (46)Hi everyone, I just wanted to report back with the final results! I ended up going with: Make = Richards-Wilcox Model = Grandview (i.e. larger windows) Profile = Recessed Smooth Ranch Colour = Bronze Window Style = 4-Pane Window Type = Satin/Frosted (it's completely private) The "Grandview" has larger windows, but because the top panel of the door is larger, the window is actually positioned further from the top of the door than if I got the smaller windows (so ironically, the larger windows help prevent clipping from the angled corners). The satin/frosted glass is really nice -- it's completely private (which was a concern of mine). I can't really get a good picture because of my homemade dirt bin (another paver patio project in another Houzz thread :P) but I'm really happen with the results! Thanks @Beth for convincing me that Bronze (rather than White) was the correct colour for my house -- my house no longer looks pink! They still have to come back to clad the trim in matching bronze, and then I have to paint the shutters in Urbane Bronze. After that I can think about the front door colour and light fixtures. I think it will all pull together nicely :) Thanks everyone for your suggestions!...See MoreJustDoIt
