I erroneously selected a outwardly pink color for my attic office and when I returned home that night I hated it. My painter suggested one of BMs whites with pink undertone - Atrium white - and it was perfect. Should have checked with him BEFORE he painted as he was back changing it the next day. The point I am trying to make is that if you go for a pink, the most subtle color on a strip may end up being too much. Such was the case with my first choice which ended up looking like Pepto Bismol. Sue

It seems you have decided on navy curtains but I wanted to point out that they will fade noticeably at those windows. I liked the photoshop with the softer blue gray curtains for the amount of light you'll be getting as well as the color. Otoh, you could use an oatmeal linen and have it banded with navy the way those curtains Rorah posted were banded with coral. A bit of navy but not overwhelming. You could probably find the curtains and have a workroom add the navy banding at the bottom and leading edges. Rorah, my mother had those oatmeal linen curtains trimmed with coral in our library when I was a child. No valance, they were on a traverse rod. Decades later she gave them to me and I used them for another five years. Good design is timeless!

123bdesign: Am not sure what you mean by a day worker? If the work room has a day worker why would he/she even be motivated to surprise me or why would they even feel that I needed to be surprised???? Am totally confused as to why a work room would have a day worker and why they would be involved with the drapes. Just to recap, these creases were there from the moment they arrived at my home delivered by the installer who works for the decorator. When I saw the creases I asked the installer if they need to be steamed out and he said no absolutely not and that it would only make the billowing worse than it was. No, the decorator did not share any information with me as to characteristics of the fabric. Unfortunately I have learned after the fact that the decorator is probably not familiar with these things---mea culpa, poor choice of a decorator. Regarding the work room, the woman who owns the local work room did come to my house to measure and discuss the drapes but never mentioned anything about the fabric.. Then she turned around and outsourced it to a huge work room all the way across the country and yes, as you said, their job was just to make the drapes. I was never made aware that she was going to outsource the job. Another mea culpa, poor choice of a local work room by a decorator who was a poor choice. As I said above, this has been a very costly learning experience. shady lady2: I don't know what you mean about mounting the rod higher up. The creases would still be there and still very obvious because the fabric billows and so what might be folded to the back with a different fabric does not occur here. With the billowing there are very few back folds----so the creases are all pushed out to be visible. Hope I am explaining myself. I have given up with this job and my only recourse is to post an honest review of the decorator and work room on the local angie's list and move on.

So here are a few more pics I snapped to show you the ’other‘ windows in my living room- In these other windows; the afternoon sun blares in strong- so I‘m considering some of those shear soft type fabric shades (maybe they’re called Silhouttes but not certain at this time) that you can raise/lower, open/close & tilt as needed- perhaps I’d get one thats remote control operated-I’d have enough space to have these blinds inside mounted in both upper & lower side windows OR another option I can just put one of these Silhouette type blinds over the top side window & over the lower side window put a matching height drape panels to match the front window drapery panels. Perhaps with both the front lower window & the side lower window with matching drapery it would give my living room a more finished look as well as add more interest to living room. Adjoined to my living room is our dining room- you’ll see our french doors with sideboard swing out doors with screens that lead to the backyard. I prefer not to put any window covering over these french doors & side windows since they would partially block our view. We recently wrapped up our downstairs renovation & the window coverings would be the final touch- well maybe a few hanging wall pictures, plants etc in time. (note- we’ve had our front windows installed gosh… maybe 20+ years ago)?!! Thoughts, suggestions appreciated
