First change every bulb to LED 4000K I am not sure what you were thinking with both the flooring and the counter with those cabinets. The LEDs will act like natural daylight and might help .

I struggled with these decisions as well. Given the extent if the project - i would turn to eDesign color consultants. Look up Laura Rugh and Jacob Owens. I found them both extremely helpful and very reasonably priced. Small price to pay to get it right.

I don't understand why the rush to commit to a countertop before painting the cabinets? Can you hold off and get the cabinets done, and then see how you feel?

I agree about getting 4000K lights. this lighting throws off a pink/yellow tone

What kind of cabinet hardware are you doing? nickel? make them pulls, not knobs

as for backsplash, make sure you don't get the 4" quartz piece up the back.

you can do a warmer gray tile, a white tile, or any type of design, since everything in the kitchen is a solid.

Actually, I think if you did marble, do the Calacatta since it has warmer tones in it to work w/your wood cabs

I like this stone and glass tile too. it's subtle and soft and the tones are all similar.

and please, no need to do plain white 3x6 subway tiles! good lord, bring in something else!

Cloe Tiles. this is gray, but they have it in Black, which would look really cool next to your quartz and wood

Tilebar has this 3x10 Calloway tile in a gray. Have you been over there? you get 5 samples for $5

and I love their Nabi Harlequin tiles !!

I would get the simplest, least busy, stone countertop you can find. This will open up your color palette, allowing you to choose from a variety of options regarding backsplash and paint colors. Busy granite counters will clash with virtually all backsplashes (unless its one solid color, no pattern tile).

A light blue would look so pretty!

Patricia Colwell Consulting, I’m not sure you read my post. I bought the house this way and the only thing I changed so far was the flooring. I picked a flooring I liked, not to go w the hideous cabinet color that I am changing. I stated I was changing everything (cabinet color included) in the kitchen, except the flooring. Does this make sense? There are no counters in my pic of my kitchen, there will be new counters, new wall paint, new backsplash, new cabinet paint, new lighting.

The countertop is one I’ve been wanting a long time. I was advised to paint the cabinets after in case they get scratched during install. Also, was thinking of doing white, whatever will go well w the other things I’ve committed to so no big deal.

@Jonnie Colosimo you'll learn that Patricia doesn't read posts, just gives her unwanted opinion on everything other than what you're asking about. I think white would be a safe choice for your cabinets... but have you thought about navy blue? SW Naval, Cyberspace or Needlepoint Navy are great colors. We have navy blue lowers and white uppers, it's a great mix.

@mrsjojo I bought this laminate right when it came out. It is very durable! so far, the only thing that has dented it a little has been super heavy things dropping on it, like a paperweight or bookend type thing. the kids toys dont damage it. I’ve left water on it too overnight etc, and never bubbled it or had a problem there. I used this in the kitchen, living, family, and hallway. I used Backer rod around the perimeter in the kitchen and caulking. I know there is also LVP, so I decided between this and that because of the durability. Some of the LVP looked really plastic to me. There hasn’t really been any negatives to it.

@jc yes LVP looks plastic to me too. I love the look of this but wasn’t sure how durable it was in terms of water and kids. I’ve got a couple fi crazy kids pushing their stuff everywhere. Thank you for responding!

@mrsjojo i know what you mean! Mine do the same thing and I’m worried to paint my cabinets lol. The few dents etc I actually did myself w Those heavy things. I think I dropped a knife once in the kitchen and it left a tiny mark On the floor. these things are like barely noticeable though. It withstands a lot

Awesome! Any furniture indentations? If you have more pics of your living room etc w the floors do you mind sharing? I’m looking at Sand Dune in the coastal collection. What color did you choose? We try keep our kids toys away from the kitchen. Not always successful, but I’ve seen friends w damaged cabinets from the toys being rammed into them! It’s a struggle!

Do you have a box of spare Asher Gray Oak planks? If so, would you mind sharing a photo of the box and labels (big and small)? I am having the same flooring installed but questioning why the box label in the center only reads "Revwood", not Revwood Plus. See photo.
