Personally I think it's bad for resale, and at least would try for the double faucet, large sink solution, but I had a bit of trouble figuring exactly what your said...so I want to ask if there is a typo? You are currently "noT" trying to separate the shower and tub? Or you are "noW" trying and that's why you haven't the space? I ask this because I went from a master with just a tiny shower (less than 3' each way) to a master with both a shower (not huge, not small...3' x I think 5.5') and a tub, and I got two vanities out of the deal. I did this by using an unusual shaped tub, an Americh Japanese soaking tub. It's very tall, but only 40x40, so it allowed me the extra 34 or so inches I needed to give DH his own sink and cabinets. (Otherwise the poor man wasn't going to have a place to work in) :oP

My parents house is like that, but there’s a wall with a wide doorway into the area with the vanity, so it’s open but also easy to close off by just putting a curtain rail up. It’s also oriented to the room such that if you only use enough light at the vanity to wash your hands for a midnight potty run, it really isn’t enough to bother someone in the bed if you place the bed sensibly. Getting ready in the morning would be trickier if you needed to do makeup and so on so needed proper lighting, so that’s where a screen or a curtain would come in.

We have 4 Kohler Forte faucets (2 Vibrant brushed bronze and 2 in vibrant brushed nickel) They have all been in use for more than 6 years. We have not had any problem with them and the both finishes still look great. It's very easy to adjust the temperature and the volume with the single handle. I had to use the escutcheon plate with my faucet because the plumber mistakenly told the fabricator that we were using a 3 hole center set faucet and we didn't catch the mistake when we signed off on the fabricator's drawing. It still looks good but I think it looks even better without the plate. My son did have a problem with one of his Kohler faucets but even though his faucet was 5 years old and he did not have a receipt, he was sent a new faucet in less than a week after emailing Kohler customer service. So I can attest to the fact that they do have great customer service.

How did this happen? Clearly the plumber did not have the correct centerlines and plumbed the sinks in the wrong spots. This should have been caught at the drawing stage, assuming you had the vanity you wanted from the beginning. If you purchased the vanity afterwards, then you should have made sure the cabinet centerlines were aligned with the faucets. Water under the bridge, however. I don't think you can re-plumb without tearing out the cabinet and the wall tile. So take the suggestion above of getting rectangular mirrors that are centered on the sinks.
