Brick wall paint color advice!!

We are in the process of updating our new house and are stuck on what color to paint the brick wall in the family room. It’s open concept, our kitchen cabinets are SW pure white and island is network gray, counters are white quartz. Trim on the main level will be painted semi gloss white (apparently there is a standard that our contractor uses? )
Walls are SW agreeable gray
I was initially thinking to paint the brick wall pure white but our painter recommended the same semi gloss white as our trim for continuity. Thoughts? Just don’t want it to be TOO stark white.

And the carpet will be hardwood, if that makes a difference in color decision

While we wait for others to weigh I on colors, I will add my honest opinion.
I would drywall over the brick.
For paint, I would continue the gray paint you are using on the walls.
Can you share the name of your gray paint?

We are getting ready to repaint the trim and siding of our brick colonial. Most of it is currently a cream color and the exterior doors are painted a shade of green. I am leaning to more traditional palette. I think we will paint the exteriors doors black. Any advice on paint shade and finish (i.e. flat, semi-gloss, gloss) for the doors? I am not a fan of the creams and think a standard white or a grayish white would be better. I'm considering BM Lancaster Whitewash or SW Shoji white. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Your brick is distinctive. To modernize, I would match the shutter color to one of the tones in the brick. For the front door, you can try any color. I would browse inspiration photos and see what you like. Good luck.

That's what happens when it's not painted properly. It's a different story when brick is painted with the proper prep and product. With that said, the look you have right now is a look people work really hard to achieve. The flaking paint on brick might just be serendipity. You can get away with a grey and tie it into the roof but that almond has a warmer undertone. Because the brick is closer to the siding than the roof I'd probably consider the siding color more than the roof. A "greige" that doesn't veer into purple territory woukd work too. Depending on what you choose id probably replace the garage doors and paint the front door.
