Pretty space! Love the color. That's an electric fireplace, right? I have one in my library and enjoy it. Is that the only corner in the room where you can use it? I ask because it seems a little too close to the doorways. If it must stay there, I'd accent the top with a simple piece of pottery that's large enough to make a statement and leave it at that.

Design is more holistic and, if you don't mind, could we see -photos of the other parts of this room -photos of other rooms (and information on what you are not changing) -furniture you have and are keeping My biggest concern right now is the furniture arrangement. The fireplace is in an awkward place. It might be difficult to arrange furniture, especially if you have a tv........unless it goes on the mirror wall.....an argument in your favor to remove the mirrors. Where should I put this tv!? The cabinet is temporary until we figure out what to do. Couches are being replaced with an ivory linen modular couch. Tossing up between getting a low tv cabinet and putting the tv on the wall above it or putting the tv on the wall between the fireplace and door and putting a floating timber shelf above or below it. The other option is putting the Tv on the wall under the stairs but then the couches would be facing away from the fireplace 🤦🏽‍♀️ Somewhere in there, Id also like to put floating shelves or a bookshelf for books and photos. What to do!?

It will be hard to strip it. But you can try it if you want 😶🤗 I would probably just smooth stucco over it...
