If you open the BM page with the big square of Powell Buff in one window, then open another window and put the square of Bracken Cream right next to it. Bracken cream is much lighter and reflects a lot more light, i.e.: LRV is 73.52, while Powell Buff's LRV is 60.08. Next, push your laptop screen away from you, and see how each color intensifies. That gives you and idea as to what the undertones are. I did them next to the Powell Buff. It actually looks like the Cornice Tan is identical to Powell Buff, so scratch that color. Bracken Cream and Cornice Tan are both from the Williamsburg Collection, which is new, and the stores don't have the samples in the larger cans yet. However, they can mix the color for you in a pint. Your problem may simply be that yellows/creams/beiges don't do well in low and artificial light. Are you set on a beige? You don't have any pics of the hallway, do you?

Young-gardener, yes I've seen those look-alive pics...her kitchen is also fabulous. I love her little peek-a-boo window to the playroom! The color Vapor trails is not the cream color however...she wrote the she originally was going to do the grey color called Vapor Trails before finding out that Sally Wheat used Fieldstone...I think that's what I read anyway! I haven't decided for sure whether I'm going to flat out copy Sally Wheat's kitchen but at this point it's probably a smart thing to do! Here in the N.W., her colors aren't passe yet (if they even are at this point anywhere) because we're the last to find out what colors and designs are the new cutting edge thing! ;) Also - looking at your last post - I'd say there's a pretty darn good chance that the color "linen weave" IS indeed Sally's kitchen's cream color because I opened up both webpages and looked at the cream colors side by side and they seemed to match identically. They both seem to have pink in them don't they?! How fun! Thank you!

I think Mad is right. This looks like one of the grocery store type minis. They're very hard to ID because the grower doesn't supply the names to the sellers, just generic colors tags. And that's probably how the sellers order them, a gross of red, a gross of yellow, etc. They're meant as gift roses, instead of getting a dozen roses, and they're actually meant to be disposable. However, if planted in the ground they grow and bloom for years. Enjoy your rose and don't worry about it's name. Name it after your sister!

For a little boy’s room, would you paint all 4 colors this color green or just 1 wall (the bed wall)? It seems to make sense to do 1 wall like if a whole bookshelf wall because clearly it is distinct, but thinking it might look odd just to do a bed wall in green with BM Simply White trim and rest of the room in white like BM Simply White? So better to just do all 4 walls in green with BM Simply White trim or do bed wall just in green with BM Simply White trim and remaining walls BM Simply White? Like white trim so wouldnt do green for trim and don’t think I want stripes or chair rail in this room. Thanks!
