1 pound of nitrogen per 1,000 square feet would be 0.5 kilos of nitrogen per 100 square meters. It is sometimes easier to figure how many kilos of N are in the original bag. If you have a 10 kilo bag of 5-4-3 fertilizer you multiply 10 kilos by 0.05 to get 0.5 kilos of actual N in the bag. If it was 19-5-8 you would multiple 10 kilos by 0.19 to get 1.9 kilos of N. Then if you want to apply 0.5 kilos per 100 square meters, you adjust the amount you apply to match up. Always water chemical fertilizer in right after you apply. If you do not, then tomorrow morning's dew will create a very strong fertilizer solution that kills the grass. I like organic fertilizer for many reasons but for this discussion it does not need to be so carefully calculated, nor does it need to be watered in. Modern organic fertilizers are primarily made up of food like wheat, corn, soy, alfalfa, and other ground up grains, nuts, beans, and seeds. Here is a picture of plain alfalfa pellets (rabbit chow) used at a rate of 10 kilos per 100 square meters. It was applied in mid May and the picture was taken in mid June. You should not need to routinely use weed or moss killer. What was your watering schedule again? I think we got the schedule but not the timing. Once the lawn is established you should never be watering more often than once every 3 weeks (note that his average summer temp is below 70 degrees F). ONCE! When you allow the ground to dry out completely before watering, weeds and moss are seldom an issue. Sometimes rain plays havoc with your best intentions, but it should not be a routine to apply weed and moss killer.

Hi repainting, Could you help out another william morris addict? I'd love to buy direct as you did, but I can't figure out how. First I went to the Sanderson site, which led me to the Morris and co. subsite, which, on the FAQ regarding direct orders: "All orders are referred to our Specialist retailers, for more information please visit the "Where To Buy" section on our website for a full list." Perhaps you ordered from a UK retailer with a very low markup? All I can find online are retailers like historic style and pendleton woodworks. Let's see, I'd like to get 4 yards of autumn flowers velvet for a chair I'm recovering; even with conversion, it's $250/yd from historic style. I've got to believe there's a little bit of extra markup in that price! Now, I know retailers have to make a buck, but I guess at these rates I'd rather they make it off someone else. So any info. you have about what you did would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise it's off to Joann during a 50% off home decorating fabrics sale to find a compromise. I can get a velvet at less than 1/10th of the price from them. I'd pay triple or quadruple for a morris pattern, but tenfold more? Lascatz, Jeanne Kitchen and Lishaana- your kitchens are so pretty; what type of cabinets did you use? Sombreuil-- your paneling is GORGEOUS but way beyond my capability! MamaPapaPaige--I did price out custom cabinets from 2 separate cabinet makers. I got a quote for $14K from each which I know is not unreasonable, but I cannot justify spending that much. I have a large family and can only spend that much if one of the kids agrees not to go to college. Right now they refuse to agree that a pretty kitchen is more important than their education! They are SO unreasonable.

Hopefully the electrician installed adjustable outlet boxes. Makes easy work for all involved and very inexpensive. If not, link shows an adjustable box, which can be retrofitted B4 tiling.
