Comments (10)If you get one where the door opens down e prepared for lots of crumb cleaning up. I gave my air fryer that had the slide out to my son and replaced it with a combo with slide in trays, rotisserie, rotating fry basket, skewers and almost wish I had just the air fryer back. Sometimes more is less indeed......See MoreNeeding info on combo oven/air fryers
Comments (4)I've never seen one with a microwave. That sounds like a lot to ask. I just got one on Prime Day, but it's the kind that's shaped like an oven with a drop down door, but isn't much different than a drawer style air fryer, just a better arrangement. Part of the draw is that it's also supposed to dehydrate. I have some beets that are going to test that if I can chip out some time. The unit has a toast rack. I did once throw a couple of pieces of too soft bread in it to make a sandwich, but I was impatient and didn't wait to see whether it would make nice toast. Dried and stiff was good enough for the sandwich. It seems like they're adding "air fry" to everything nowadays. The question is how well does it work. It's just high speed, high heat convection, so I suppose the kind of unit you describe isn't that different from a conventional convection microwave. Mine has a rotisserie spit, cage and skewer holder. The cage is great....See MoreWhich kind of combo is best: microwave, convection, toaster
Comments (11)I have a microwave on a counter-height deep shelf in my pantry to hide it. We even have an ice maker and wine fridge below the counter. this setup works just fine. We also use our microwave several times a day. Our pantry doors are open a lot too. i have a Breville Smart oven that sits on the counter. It acts as my toaster and second oven for casseroles, etc. the oven is on the larger side, but I put it in a corner which makes it better. i agree with not putting a toaster or even a toaster oven in the pantry because of the cleaning issues....See MoreIs an air fryer just a convection oven?
Comments (25)I have a Tovala countertop oven that convection bakes, broils, steams and reheats. Since it is just the two of us, I use it a lot, even though I also have a Samsung oven with the two oven capacity so I could use the smaller oven. This thread has been an eye-opener. I love the way baked veggies taste and frozen potatoes cook in the Tovala. It never occurred to me that this is what the "air frying" hoopla is describing. Off to learn more, thanks!...See Moreplllog
