which of these can take shifts in a windowless bathroom?
Comments (8)The hoya c. would appreciate the humidity. They are tough plants in my experience. However, if it is actively growing and in a dark place for too long the new growth will be white and die back once it is put back in a brighter spot. 24 hours is probably too short for that to happen, or even 7 days can be too short. If you can't move it safely though, I wouldn't bother since the leaves can break off easily. If you want it to flower, then you have even more reason not to put it in the bathroom ... Have you considered spider plant as a permanent resident in your bathroom? Would be interesting to see if it can survive. The offsets would probably last a long time from the humidity (or so I think....). I hope whatever you decide turns out well :)...See MoreBathroom Reveal, Thanks to the Bathroom and Remodel Forums!X-Post
Comments (6)Lovely! I like the classic white tile and porcelain and how you used furniture pieces in the bathroom. I love that the storage at the end of the tub has pull-outs that can be reached from the toilet. Your custom sink and backsplash and counter are unique and beautiful. Yours may be the first bathroom sink I have seen in which a small or medium dog could be washed! That is a good thing! I showed your pictures to my DH because I am thinking of classic tiled walls with a chair rail for when we redo our bath in a couple of years. He liked it! I was expecting him to say, "too old fashioned." He did not, he said it looked nice. From him, nice is a compliment. He even liked your rows of listello. I was just at the Tile Shop's site the other day looking at the Hampton tiles because someone was selling some on Craigslist. I am hoping to do as you did and get what I can cheaper there, and fill in the rest from the store. I can see that you worked very hard to secure all of your materials - and then cut the floor tiles to size and culled the Hampton tiles, too! You succeeded very well in getting the look you wanted while saving money along the way. Congratulations, and thank you for the pictures and great detail and supply list....See MoreHow often do you upgrade your bathroom?
Comments (17)Our last house was built in 1955 and had 2 bathrooms originally. The main bath was partially remodeled in 1985 - and badly done. I'm not sure about the basement bath since the basement had been gutted before we bought the house. We gutted the main floor bath before we moved in in 2009 and later added the basement bathroom back in 2011. Our current house was built in 1979 by the previous owners, who are good friends of ours. The house had 2 full baths, two 3/4 baths and a ridiculously small and unused powder room. We ended up eliminating the powder room in the kitchen remodel and I DON'T regret it. The other bathrooms were untouched over the years except for replacing the wall to wall carpet with tile. We had a leaky shower in one of the basement 3/4 baths so we are taking care of that right now. It involved replacing the whole shower. Four bathrooms are going to take a lot of time and money to upgrade so it will be a process!...See MoreApartment bathroom
Comments (21)you can find vinyl floor cloths online this site has a huge choice of patterns https://www.spicherandco.com/home.php?cat=1398 but I bought mine (made by same company but distributed by a different store) on Garnet Hill. They carry a few patterns, Quality is superb. https://www.garnethill.com/floorcloths-by-spicher-and-company/rugs-home-decor/rugs/494210?&defattribvalue=main it's vinyl so you just wipe it and it's clean It doesn't move on wood..at all. but if your tile is very, very slippery-maybe buy the smallest size to check. You're describing quite an awful tile. I once almost broke my neck, in some open house. On some tile like that. If you'd like interesting, maybe bigger bathmat that doesn't skid and you can throw it in the washer-I had some by Anthropologie and was very pleased. Obviously you can find them anywhere, I'm just saying I liked their quality. As for real deal rug-I have it now in the hall/kids bath, pretty heavily used, and it survived major flooding and emerged like new. What's good about it-you can always repurpose it later, in some other smaller space. They're made to last. You can throw a towel on top of it if you're afraid to ruin it, but these are real hard to ruin. And of course they feel great on feet. I don't baby mine, at all. It smells fine. (I smell it from time to time..lol). Real wool has all sorts of great qualities....See Morepartim
