2-2's, 1-5 and 1-6. I buy variations so the green ones are about ready when I finish the ripe one which would be a six for me. I know when they have some brown spots on them they are sweeter and have more flavor but I like mine firm.

It depends- for cereal and eating 6, for banana bread 11.

Agree with 6 to just pick up and eat.

Mine is more like 5-6 to pick up and eat. DH prefers anything from 1-4, too green for my taste. 5 is banana bread time in his mind. I could almost shop for groceries about every two weeks if it wasn't for his darned preference for under ripe bananas and he eats one every day. Could go back to all the years he would put one in his engineers vest and take off hiking. Perfectly ripe bananas would bruise too easily. He doesn't make all that many demands, if he wants green bananas he gets green bananas.

4 to 6. I use bananas in a bowl of mixed cut fruit that we have for salad. I cut up avocados, and mango, plum or what ever with half a banana each. I think DH would prefer them riper and he certainly gets them that way when the bananas are riper than I like. It works. I really dont like the super ripe ones.

5-6 and for banana bread it's 14-15. DH eats everything else.

Out of hand 9-10.

I'd choose 8 or 9, but since I learned to defy "Chiquita Banana" by putting bananas in the refrigerator, a banana could be completely brown on the outside and still perfect on the the inside.

I like anything between 4 and 7, 8 is getting dicey and above that is ready for banana bread or the freezer for smoothies/protein shakes.

My peel and eat preference is #7, or maybe #6.

But I'd eat anything between #4 and #9. Maybe #10 depending how it looked once peeled.

I'd buy a few lower numbers to eat the next two or three days.

4-5 for eating. 10-12 for a banana choc. chip cake recipe that I like. Beyond that, compost.

1-4. I love unripe bananas. I'll use slightly riper ones sliced up in cereal, but for eating out of hand, just about the greener the better.

My preference is #6, but I'll also eat one that's a #5 or #7.

I prefer riper bananas versus those that are greener, so #8.

To pick up peel and eat 5,6,7. 6 preferred.

Not fond of bananas, but will eat one occasionally, if it's green enough. so a 1, I guess.

For eating, I would pick #10, but if for buying, I would pick 6-8 and let them get riper. When they get to #11, if I don't eat them, I put them in the freezer.

The ones on my tree still have not reached #1 or #2 stage, and so I have not picked them yet.

9-up for baking

8 or 9 but I'm not crazy about bananas.

I feel like the flavor is perfect at 9. Starting at 11, it's good for banana bread. :)

3 or 4 I keep bananas in the refrigerator. They ripen so slowly that I never have over ripe. And, I like them cold on my cereal.

I only like green bananas, a one or a two at most.

6 for me

10 is perfect. Beyond that I'll look carefully for bad spots and if most is sound, I freeze them for use in baking.

#4 for me. Cannot eat them unless I'm desperate if they're much passed that.
