According to these studies this is a main reason why people lie. What is it?

Have you ever felt guilty about a lucky break you received? Sometimes the truth seems so unbelievable people feel it might be better to keep it to themselves. One recent study says some people actually prefer to lie because of the fear that the truth will hurt their reputation.The study, published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology: General, looks at several experiments which test how people handle situations where they gain a financial advantage over others. Researchers say several people chose to lie about their good fortune because telling the truth could make them appear selfish or dishonest.

Bread aisle of the grocery store, which is why I never go down that aisle. I'm somewhat shocked that so many people go down every aisle in the grocery store. I certainly never go down the pet supply aisle, and I tend to shop the periphery of the grocery store, unless there is a specific aisle that I need to visit. I do tend to go down every (small) aisle in the Lebanese market, however, but that is a very small store and has a lot of unusual items that I might know that I need. I try not to go down every aisle in Trader Joe's for the same reason, but there are only four, and so it is difficult not to.

Wow, I must be getting older than I thought I was! I read that book at least three times, many years ago, but I don't remember anything about them having a daughter!
