Off white cabinets with white marble backsplash??
Comments (5)Cream colors (most off whites fall into cream categories) and white/greys don't usually look good together. They make each other look dirty. Get a few pieces of the white marble tiles and get a door sample in your color. Bring them home to your kitchen, for your lighting, and put them next to each other and see what they look like they. If you see color like most people do, you're not going to think they look good together. Get a back splash that's warmer/beige in hue or a completely different color than white. That's just my opinion. Not written in stone....See MoreBisquit/Bone/Grey subway tile?? Acceptable?
Comments (8)I'd need to see pix of what your other choices look like together to have an informed opinion. FWIW - we are going with gray subways from Daltile. I had tried to find a certain color, then another, in subways and when I could not find the right shade of either, we settled on the gray. It is a little different than plain white, but is also a neutral. It works with the colors of our kitchen so it was an easy decision between the 2. It was well cheaper than handmade tiles, but it does not look like handmade tiles. We figured we were willing to pay the premium to get exactly what we wanted, but were not willing to pay more for something that is now meant more as background than a feature. I'd have loved to get crackle in the right color or even gray, but could not justify the difference at the time we ordered. By that point in the process, money was tighter. We did pay a bit for the vintage and custom tiles that will make up the feature in the bs.......See MoreWhich white granite and backsplash to go with my blue gray cabinets?
Comments (9)THANK YOU ALL for the great suggestions! I'm definitely going to go lighter for the countertops then! Showed all the comments to my hubby as well to convince him ;) At the warehouse now... just found out slab #3 (light gray and white) has a "smiley face" crack on it :/ I'll have to see if the fabricator can work around it. The "super white" looks super gray here. The frosty carrina looks great but still a little expensive for us :( Aprilneverends-You're so right about the movement on the cabinets! We had painted over builder's oak. That is a big factor that I'm considering when picking the movement on the countertop Aboxofcrayons-I love your cabinets! Is it the distressed wood look? I would love to see your kitchen once the countertops are installed! Oldbat2be- I have laminate right now and there are few burn spots on it too. I'm dying for something new, glossy, and durable :) Torreykm-We had our cabinets painted with a gray stain. I originally wanted a distressed wood or driftwood look. Our GC ended up painting it! We just left it then lol. I can find out which color and brand we used and I can post it here when I get back home :) I'll keep you guys posted! Thanks so much again!!!...See MoreHelp! Comments (3)Yes...this can be evaporation of water. The mortar has plenty of water in it. It needs to "dry" before this is considered "set". The only place for it to escape = the edges. It can take several WEEKS for this look to go away. Weeks - not days. If you have stopped work, then you might as well leave it for a few more days to prove to yourself that it is "getting better". Weeks. Just remind yourself of that every day that you look at it....See MoreRelated Professionals
