DD brought home loose pearls for me as well. I was lucky to have a coworker who made jewelry as a hobby, make me necklaces and bracelets.

DD made this one for the dog with the larger pearls!

Hah Katlan! Mom always used to tease that when we turned around in someone's driveway, the lady of the house just got her vacuum out to clean before letting in unexpected company!

When someone pulled in our driveway newspapers under the couch cushions and dirty dishes under the sink!

I loved this one!

When we turned around in someone's driveway, we used to shout "Don't put the coffee on!"

My favorite "unexpected company" routine is from comedian Sebastion Maniscalo.

DOORBELL

I love Sebastian Maniscalo and being Sicilian I can relate to what he is saying. At our house, it was international cafe instant coffee and deep’n delicious cake that my mom always kept on hand for unexpected company.

I just went down a Sebastian Maniscalo rabbit hole.😁

He's very funny; his unexpected company bit is one I never get tired of.

I never tire of it either. I grew up in a house just like that. And we always had lots of company here too, years ago. Beats the heck out of zooming, IMO.
