Why do elephants have trunks?

My grand dog, decked out in her pink fleece and pearl necklace.

DD brought home loose pearls for me as well. I was lucky to have a coworker who made jewelry as a hobby, make me necklaces and bracelets.

DD made this one for the dog with the larger pearls!

Annie, you reminded me of this joke: A gynaecologist decided he'd had enough of the late nights and odd hours, so he decided to retrain as a mechanic. For the final exam, he had to repair a carburetor. On collecting his certificate, the surgeon saw he had been given 200% for his final exam score. He queried the examiner. "How can a person get 200%? 100% is the highest score." The examiner replied, "I never saw anyone do it through the exhaust pipe before."

We've been having a rough time here in the Australian state of Victoria. We're on our sixth Covid hard lockdown, there have been violent anti-vax demonstrations in Melbourne in the last couple of days, and yesterday we had an earthquake (unusual in Australia, which is not especially earthquake- prone). This one happened to be the strongest recorded in Australia in several centuries. This comment says it all :

Hah Katlan! Mom always used to tease that when we turned around in someone's driveway, the lady of the house just got her vacuum out to clean before letting in unexpected company!

I love Sebastian Maniscalo and being Sicilian I can relate to what he is saying. At our house, it was international cafe instant coffee and deep’n delicious cake that my mom always kept on hand for unexpected company.

I never tire of it either. I grew up in a house just like that. And we always had lots of company here too, years ago. Beats the heck out of zooming, IMO.
