Need new exterior paint and trim. What colors would you choose?
Comments (6)I feel that if you paint the trim around the window, then you should paint all other trim. It would look odd otherwise and honestly, it would look like only parts of the home have been freshened up. There's a house I drive past that apparently buys a run of siding as the owners' budget allows. So it's been a slowly disappearing face of Tyvek wrap for the past 4 years. Personally. I wish they had just saved up over the years and done it all at once. So I also vote for just waiting until you can do it all at once. If I can barely tolerate/ignore the exterior of my house for 12 years, anyone can. I don't think the other responder was suggesting that you paint the garage door the same CURRENT color, but instead, once you do paint the stucco, make the garage the same color. I personally think cream colored house, or gray, with black trim would look sharp. Can you find more of those eaves and add them to the entrance at some point? Have no clue if it's possible, just a thought. Please make sure whatever siding you paint, you paint it all, not just what faces the street. Trim those shrubs too. Just saw that brick on the front, if that's the only place you have the brick, I'd budget for removing it. Looks ridiculous. Comments (11)Your home is BEAUTIFUL inside! What a wonderful job you have done with it! I love the old wooden floors, the crisp white trim, and your modern furnishings. It is lovely. You have done a great job with it. I like the beige/gray walls inside, as well as the gray tones that you have used. Your home could look wonderful painted a blue/gray color, if you want a change. You could experiment with some color on your porch with large black modern style pots filled with colorful flowers. Your yard, as I see it, is mostly paved. So, if you want to bring color there, too, a planter under your front window (with the awning) would be nice. Trust your judgment AND taste. You have both!...See MoreWhat color will look good on shutters, trim & door?
Comments (6)I know you didn't ask about your landscaping and walkway, but your landscaping needs an update. It is too high and close to the windows on both sides of the walkway. Post in the landscape forum to see if they can give you a helping hand with a master plan. Your walkway is too skinny also. The way it is now, it accentuates how your front door is off center. Painting the front door and the sidelite the same color may help visually but the entire walkway needs to be widened IMO....See MoreWhat color fascia and frieze trim colors would look good?
