Are the sectionals not 'locked' together? If not, then you should buy the hardware to do that otherwise it will be a constant problem. dianolo: The picture is from 1st Dibs, and it's a vintage Vladimir Kagan cloud sofa, listed for $8900, and $7-9K seems in the ballpark. Room and Board makes a version of this sofa called the Hahn Sofa (designed for them by Kagan), that lists for $2100. It alludes to the VK cloud but doesn't curve as much. I think gduplessis, celerygirl, and groveraxel covered most of my points. I think I'd get rid of the love seat by the fireplace (so not blocking it), and move the one from the front wall forward until it's a conversational distance from the other couch. The the two make an L that includes TV and fireplace. You can add a small swivel chair by fireplace if space allows. Then I'd make the zone by the front door a different space, rather than the zone by the fireplace as partim did -- it could be a game table with two chairs, or a desk, or a bench with a boot tray... anything you have use for. The room is too long to be treated as one zone, which is why the love seats at either end are barely in shouting distance now.

I'm currently looking to furnish my new place! I spend a lot of time on the couch so I want something that's comfortable and not high maintenance. I love sectionals/cloud-like couches and have been looking at Joybird - Bryant. I'd like to stay within the $1K range but know that's crazy. Any recommendations?
