need good source for bedspread
Comments (14)susieq, Brylane Home has some very nice things but not many spreads. I'd like something tropical or kind of a animal print design. camlan, I look up The Vermont Country Store and I really should have checked out Lands End since they are located close to me "Shop Locally" Lynn, I was at Penney's Monday and also looked thru their catalog while waiting in line. jane, I thought all Bed Bath & Beyonds wnet out of business - our's did. I'll look online today. pammyfay, I already checked out the Company Store as well as Kohl's. I haven't shopped at Target for six years when they would not return something - it was 90 days but then the guy next to me returned some shoes he said didn't feel right - they were sooooooo used and no receipt. I was so mad!!! that I said I'd never return to the store and I haven't. thanks for all the help....See MoreHelp - New bedspread
Comments (12)LOL! Everyone. I hung it outside for a few hours. That really helped. I didn't want to wash the bedspread because I wanted it to stay looking brand new. I bought the bedspread for looks. My dh prefers a down comforter on the bed. Sleeps great, but isn't as pretty in pictures. I knew it was possibility we might be moving. I can never find what I want when I want it so I grabbed it when I saw it. We haven't moved yet. We were interviewing realtors. I didn't want to show them how we really live. I ordered the bedspread set online at Dillard's about a year ago. They tend to have end of season clearances for 60% plus $40 off at the very end of season. I think I paid almost $80 for the bedspread, four shams, two small pillows and dust ruffle. It's a really nice, luxurious looking set....See MoreNew bedspread quilt, is it a keeper?
Comments (16)Hi Les, thanks for the suggestions. I think a light pillow would help too. I looked a little today when I was out but didn't see the right one yet. I'm lucky the green ones and the bedskirt work with both quilts I guess! I was afraid the comforter looks a little small. I looked to see, and folding it the other way doesn't help. It's a queen size on a king bed. Serves the practical purpose of keeping us warm but doesn't have much hang to it. I'll keep my eye out for another. I like the color of it. Good idea to use that small table beside a chair. It's an old telephone table out of my great aunt's house and I'd love to find a spot for it that makes sense. I want to fix another guest room upstairs. When I do that this fall I could probably use the chest up there. It was my grandma's and is a keeper but I wouldn't mind putting it in a guest room. It would make a good spot for someone to open their suitcase. Still have work to do on this room but I couldn't move on until I found a "winter" quilt and I think I've found it :-)...See MoreFluff post: what color or colors is your bedspread or bedspreads?
Comments (56)This one I made for the bed using a combination of sheets, satin ribbon and some very pretty but somewhat expensive printed quilting fabric. The ribbon conceals the raw edges so I could make the most of the patterned material - the shams and horizontal rows for a queen size took nearly the full yard and then I made a decorative throw pillow with pleating to hide that the print material used was the scraps, raw edges also concealed with ribbon. Leftover ribbon as the ties (not shown) at one end and internally keep the duvet inside from moving around/sliding out and bunching. Our sheets are blue solid, teal solid, and gray solid - all 400tc and under $45 a set at target. I have a white and gray comforter left over from when we staged our previous home also, however...the dog sleeps with us and I could have told the stager the futility in buying any soft home decor/furnishing that is mostly white when one has a dog. Even with washing. I have tennis balls that go in the dryer with it to keep the poly fill from being lumpy. Eventually it will become the dog’s comforter. The kids room has two bunk beds (for up to 4 kids) and solid blue comforters, sheets are blue solid, blue stripe, and blue dots (I bought a variety of patterns in a dozen sets since sheets and kids both have to get washed really often and sometimes you have to throw out a set of sheets.)...See Morepookie1717
