You could add real or 'fake' windows above the garage door.

I agree fake windows . Better landscaping and an actual walkway so people can find the front door.

In the long run, I would change up the siding above the garage doors, as Tozmo suggested (I would probably wait until I was painting the exterior to tackle it, though). Add some horizontal trim to divide the two siding zone. Change the direction of the siding, or switch to a wide board-and-batten siding, or do wall shingles. Googling "mixed siding homes" turns up lots of examples.

If you are into holiday decorating, you could reserve the space for a giant spider at Halloween, a huge wreath (or pair of wreaths) at Christmastime, and a flag for the 4th of July.

Seconding most affordable solutions others recommended:

--Pergola across top

--Much larger lighting--maybe one over each door

--Add glass window inserts to current garage doors if that's possible--might be.

--Draw a lot of attention to the left side of the house: light colored door in pale teal, orange, blue + great landscaping on that side.

Down the road, if you're planning to paint (or replace roof) come back to Houzz for other suggestions since the current brown color doesn't harmonize well with your reddish brown roof.

Thanks everyone! Painting is definitely on the to do list as well. The brown is awful 😂. I also hate that the garage doors are the same color as the house.

I agree with the windows suggestion, using real windows with a black backing behind it. We did that with the front of our house when we built it and no one can tell it is not a functioning window.

Also, from the photos there is a pretty obvious horizontal seam in the siding (where the room was added?) so you definitely need to put something there to distract/cover that.

Tuck that seam under a shed roof like celery showed. Put it high enough on the wall that you don't really need any windows or faux windows above the garage. Another idea is to square up the corners of the garage door openings, replace the doors with some that have windows, and mount a pergola just above the seam.

In keeping with the architecture of the house, I’d do exactly as Bev showed. That looks organic and right.

Can the room use windows? If so, I would do two sets of small square ones, each set centered over a garage bay. I would add a belly band to break up the space further. Do board and batten on the top and lap siding on the bottom or all b&b or all lap. Looks like you could use new garage doors.
