Marble Discolouration in Bathroom - Help!

I have a honed marble floor in my bathroom, a small area next to the shower is yellowing. It is installed two years in Nov, and I just noticed it about 6 months ago. Any advice on how to prevent further damage and brighten the yellowed tiles. There are also little chips in some of these tiles, but only these tiles, nothing on the rest of the floor. Judging by where the stain is on the floor I think it is safe to assume you have a water leak. Cannot tell if from the pan or the curb. Do you know how the whole shower was installed and products used? Installer still around as you may want to have him back to look at it. But you will more than likely need to have some selective demo done in my opinion, but definitely get someone in to look sooner rather than later as you do not want the wood to start to rot or develop mold.

Not a leak it’s hot mopped and fully sealed, the drain line is 2 feet away and 1/2 foot high. It was fully inspected and water sat in the tray for 48 hours. We have video and pictures on the entire process.

WOW that is green. I think the best bet is to just embrace the green and lean into it. I'd paint the walls a matching dark green. Replace the vanity for a more updated one with two sinks either in white or a natural wood. Black could also work.

Quality Calacatta is harder to obtain. You need to work with good suppliers for this. You can expect variation, as with any natural stone, but we are seeing, and perhaps due to the mining and availability right now, that there are strong variations. As for pits and chips, well that would not be acceptable. We are wrapping up a very long project and one of the baths is all Calacatta. The countertop will also be Calacatta (carefully selected from our trusted supplier and matched to the tile) but it isn't installed yet so no pictures. Here's some in progress photos. Note the third pic where we stacked the trims pieces in front of the field tile. The trims on the right were a good blend but the left was void of veining and not a good match. As a contractor with relationships and "buying power", we were able to shade all our tile in a dry lay out and return the unacceptable for replacements. You will always have SOME variance so you need to tolerate and expect this. But based on our experience we are able to discriminate between "expected" and unacceptable. It's a beautiful stone and dramatic statement if you can get it right. Good luck with your project.

I can tell you what im doing with the same size and type tile, maybe it will help. We are installing a callacutta oro tile. We layed it in a straight set ( grid) and it looks modern and beautiful. Ill add that we stacked the sides of the shower with the back wall in a herringbone to add just a bit of detail. To me, its beautiful. A marble like tile naturally can have a lot going on and i feel like the simpler laying pattern makes it seem like just a bit less going on (if that makes sense). Your bathroom will be beautiful and dont second guess your choice of wanting that tub. Its YOUR bathroom. Design it to suit your wants. Good luck.

What color towels are you thinking? Not that you have to have settled on them yet, but is there a vision? If you plan white, but room is all grays and whites, I worry might in fact be too “cold. “ Unless you already have plans and places for special colorful art ( including greens and gray- greens as colors) and perhaps wood accessories or warmer colors. And while gray, white and black can often go with bright colors, some of your tones being considered aren’t in the direction- they’re a bit warmer and softer, which is quite nice. So wondering if there are some textiles that could help inform the paint choices and vice versa. And not sure of the black hardware …

That's a leak. Zero doubt. It’s water saturated, and the iron inclusions are rusting.

The spot where that is showing would realistically only come from one thing, water. Is the "curb" pitched properly? Is it leaking from under the door?

Under the door or when the door is opened and dripping.

@celadon was right. We did shower pan tests held the water no issues and finally last night, I said it has to be a leak. So husband annoyed with my constant complaining about it filled the tray up to the top of the curb - low and behold a leak. Contractor has moved out of state - no come back with them. I have their COI and license information but nothing much use now if the business is no longer here and insurance expired. Pretty gutted about the whole thing. We think it’s the top of the curb. I have pictures of the build that I can share, if anyone can help with advice. Hoping I can repair the curb as we don’t have money for a full redo of the shower but fear the answer is no.
