One it's quite possible he's never seen that for a couple of reasons. One is this happens more often with older vehicles than new ones, and typically older cars tend to frequent the aftermarket shops (independents). Secondly, while ten years of experience in most fields is enough to have seen just about everything, thats not the case with auto repair. I've been fixing cars for thirty years, and I see something new all the time. As far as the multiple visits, I would of had to see what was happening in order to give a fair opinion. One possibility that always comes to mind first is the fact that "flat rate" (thats the pay plan most dealer techs work under) rewards the techs for getting the car in, making (hopefully) correct snap decisions, doing the repair and getting the car out. Jobs that have an uncommon failure often result in the car having to come back because of poor or improper diagnostics. The funny thing is, if a tech takes to much time diagnosing the cars he works on, he wont be as productive as the dealer wants him to be and he ends up looking for another job. A certain degree of failure is inevitable under those situations, and it's always the techs fault. NOT a VBG Thats one of the reasons I quit working at dealerships almost twenty years ago, and went aftermarket. Now I own my shop, and nothing like that occurs here, I'll guarantee it. VBG. BTW The Toyota sludging problem has several causes. Extended oil change intervals being one of the biggest, but it turns out now that a lot more research is being done and they have found that few oil products on the market had the correct additive packages to permit the oils to even attempt to achieve the extended drain intervals people were trying to use. Some are blaming the oil companies for issuing approval ratings for oils that really didn't meet the manufactuers specs. Oh well, once again I'll say, my daughters Rav4 will never sludge up. Between doing 3mo/3000 mile services, and using top dollar conventional oil from IMO the most trusted auto parts corporation NAPA, I've always been using the correct oil for all of my customers vehicles. Yes it cost more, and I have to charge more for the service when I do it for my customers, but NONE of them are having gelling issues. Thats why they come here when it is cheaper somewhere else.

Elmer, I couldn't have said it better. All car seats now-a-days are monitored by the computer. Mine will not deploy an airbag if it senses the seat is empty. I also have side impact airbags in my seat bolsters & wouldn't dare mess with that. Plus the liability, warranty & insurance complications alone would deter me. In the case of an accident it would be the owners responsibility for changing how the car was designed to operate safely. Phoggie, I'm sure the car with the right seat is out there. Don't give up hope. If only you could afford the Mercedes S class. The drivers seat has 100 different options because it adds or reduces the seating using air. A little extra air here and more air there. Plus it has a fancy seat massager. You're right tho, it takes more than a spin around the dealership to see how comfortable it really is. Its also a challenge these days because most all seats are built to hold you in during cornering so the bolsters are thicker. I haven't had hip surgery, so I like a car with good bolsters. I like to feel snug as a bug in a rug while in the drivers seat.

I actually had it soak in a bucket of water for 24 hours and the sample came out perfect, no warping or buckling of any kind. Plus it’s really holds up to scratches, even with a safety pin. And yet for some reason I’m still nervous because of all the bad rep Pergo has gotten n the past. Someone help me decide what to do. Another question is it true that it is easier to repair a damaged plank on a glue down installation over an interlocking one?

We had the beaumont flooring installed throughout our whole house (minus the bathrooms). When we purchased from F&D I noticed this specific color had been discontinued and was on sale (still expensive though!). I asked why and was told that the color was no longer on trend. I didn’t believe that but took his word for it and felt lucky the color I wanted was on sale! We bought 1800 sq ft worth, and hired their contracted installer. Prior to installing, I spoke with the main installer about the flooring and mixed reviews I had read. He assured me this is a top quality flooring and if done right with the proper underlayment, it will be perfect and last for a long time and that he had installed this flooring for years. So we went with his suggestions and had them install. 6 months later and we are experiencing the same buckling and separating issues mentioned in these reviews. We reached out to the installers about our issues and they came over to inspect. They said the floor shouldn’t be doing what it’s doing and that they would have to speak with their manager before any repairs can be done. But now we are unable to get anyone to take our call or call us back from the install/contractor’s office. They are avoiding us, argh!! I am hesitant to even bother contacting F&D, especially since their contractor is blowing us off. Has anyone looked into a lawsuit? I think we’d have a good case.
