Curved Island - HELP!
Comments (3)Another way to look at it is how much you want the two diners on the ends to be able to see each other for conversation. If this will be an area for frequent gathering, then I'd go all the way to the 19" overhang at the center and curve it right back to the legs on the sides. It still won't curve that much over 96", but will make a big difference to those end stools, and for the people in them being easily included in the conversation. OTOH it makes it harder to put a cranky spouse/child "out of the picture" as needed :)! Of course we love them, but they do all have their days.......See MoreHELP - Bill V (& others) - tiling curved walls
Comments (1)That's possible. Use a carrara mosaic, and then a carrara subway tile. Below is the only project I have where the carrara 1/2" mosaic stone was used: Depending on HOW curved your wall is, you could even use ceramic of GLASS 1x1 mosaics....See MoreHelp installing drive shaft in curved string trimmer
Comments (5)I finally resolved the problem... I taped the outside bearing shaft to the tube so the bearing could not turn even a bit, greased the drive shaft, made sure the plastic insert was down the tube as far as possible then whenever I had time (like when watching television) I would spin and push on the top of the drive shaft. It finally found its sweet spot and dropped in. I can only suspect that the drive shaft and the bearing had worn together for so many years that the drive shaft had to exactly match to the same place on the bearing. Thank you for the help and comments. p.s. there are many youtube videos of this process (search for "trimmer flexible drive shaft") which indicate the process usually goes more smoothly than mine did....See MoreNeed help installing drive shaft into curved string trimmer
Comments (0)My Homelite String Timmer (UT20760) flexible drive shaft will not seat into the bearing at the bottom of the shaft tube assembly. Because the drive shaft is square, I have tried rotating it slowly from the top (see pictures) while holding the trimmer head still (and vice versa) in an attempt to get the corners to match up but to no avail. The drive shaft has no damage and I have no reason to believe the bearing does either and all the parts are clean. It goes cleanly into the tube insert but at the end it will not seat into the bearing. Any suggestions? Is there a trick to this? Thanks....See Morebeesneeds
