I can see both sides here. On one hand, I wouldn't want to stick future buyers with another green/yellow combo, and other people might be more picky than us when it comes to bathrooms. For resale, neutral is king. And it also can be very clean looking and classy, and you can redecorate according to mood. With all their tile offerings, the Daltile inspiration page was practically showing only neutral tiles, so one can guess what's more popular from that alone. On the other hand, I had an all-white bathroom in my previous rental and it really was painfully bland. You need some whimsy, like the floors or wallpaper in the pictures above, to make one feel at home. And whimsy of all kinds is dating real fast. And if it's not color that's dated, it's tile shape and size and material. And for me personally, I think that if I have to design a bathroom, I would rather it be a quirky more colorful one. It's just more fun, and it's going to be a long slow process from full design to completion so fun is essential. I do have the original white tiles in the kitchen backsplash, which I love and plan to keep. Cute accent tile, no? The accent tiles have different veggies.

Maybe do the 2 bedrooms with carpet and then just match the othere 2 spaces with the same tile. I think trying to match and miss the laminate would be worse.

Gotta love the consumer keyboardists who have never held a trowel in their life. LOL! Spacers won’t work as intended when the floor isn’t perfectly flat. Especially with hex. It has 6 sides, not 4. Most people couldn’t get it to space out correctly on their kitchen table, much less a floor. Tile has to follow the contours, and that means narrow in some spots and wider in other. Normal old floors aren’t perfectly flat. And many times can not be made that way within the constraints of an apartment environment. Not unless the downstairs neighbor will let you in to completely destroy their ceiling and mess up their place too. The goal is to do the best that the site conditions—and budget—allow. 4K of prep work would probably get that pretty flat. And create a height difference at a threshold to another room. That’s the difference between the real world of budget installs and all of the things photographed on Houzz. People think that these photos are “normal”. It isn’t normal. It’s well above average, super high end work, with a super high end budget. Money produced all of these inspiration images. You want that level? Hire the most expensive person that you can find. Then find out who trained him and hire them. There’s been plenty of well done jobs where the grout color was off. Sometimes there’s just a bad batch. Sometimes it is over washed. It isn’t automatically anyone’s “fault”. It’s unproductive to take such an adversarial outlook as well. Focus on a solution. That would be a grout colorant. The installer should be willing to apply it if the customer buys it. Then live your life and be happy!

I agree, roman shade would be first choice but a couple others for your consideration: 1) you could make a perfect size cheap cafe curtain to cover 1/2 -2/3 of the window with some iron on hemming tape either rod pocket orclip on curtain rings, that way you let the top half of the light in 2) window obscuring sheets are very easy to apply and found on amazon. I have the former in my downstairs powder and latter in my upstairs bath and I've never had a peeling or moisture problem 3 years later
