How to Decorate Around This Guest Bedroom Wallpaper

This is in a guest bedroom that's approximately 9' x 12'.

The carpeting in the room is a neutral beige.

The room has medium-to-dark brown bifold closet doors and trim.

We've decided not to remove/replace, or cover the wallpaper. A wallpaper person came out to look at it and we determined it was too uncertain to undertake the project because we don't know for sure what's underneath. Probably paneling. We just don't want to tackle it.

The paper has a raised white-ish grid pattern on top of a faint, splotchy, pastel, watercolor pink/peach/green. It's bland and most certainly from, what, the 80's maybe?

Any ideas for bedding, art and even furniture that would work with it?

Maybe a botanical theme with shades of green?

Or would something strong and contrasting be better?

We plan to buy a couple of nightstands and a dresser for the room. Are there wood colors that might be better? (i.e., warm and deep, pale, ashy, a color, etc.) For instance, see the wood choices for the Copenhagen line at Room & Board: https://www.roomandboard.com/catalog/bedroom/dressers/copenhagen-dressers

We prefer a more contemporary look, in general, but I'm interested in any color schemes or design themes that would harmonize with the wallpaper, or at least not accentuate it.

Thanks for your advice and opinions!
