HELP!!! New home: Need so much new stuff and area rug help!
Comments (22)Home Interiors & Jodie White, Sorry guys. I'm new to this. Obviously, i need to create an Ideabook! I tend to go more towards muted brown, red, yellow/gold, rust colors (in past), but open to other somewhat neutral palettes. I actually love the console, but was considering an antique cream color (if I could make that work?). My tastes tend to be traditional, rustic, a little farmhouse (pottery barn, restoration hardware, ballard designs) but with so many current needs, all those in a TIGHT budget! Aktillery9, i do like all of those looks. My husband did just tell me, due to wiring, there is chance we may not be able to mount on flat wall as i hoped, so i may be forced to go back to corner console again. :( When I get a chance, I'll post some of my fav looks....See MoreArea rug help! Comments (5)This is one from McGee and Co that I think would coordinate with everything, a bit over budget if you’re doing 8x10: https://www.mcgeeandco.com/products/ellington-rug Here with grays and browns: Since you won’t have a coffee table, I’d look at a rug as if it’ll be art for your floor. You may have already tried this, but some sites have mock up features, so you can see the rug in your room … Rugs Direct, Rugs USA, eSaleRugs, Crate and Barrel, etc. It isn’t exact, but gives an idea. I can’t tell if you’ll need an 8x10 or larger. Your Fall decor looks nice. :)...See Moreneed help finding an area rug to go under the dining room table.
Comments (16)Put your centerpiece on the chess table. Is the other ornate dining set for breakfast, gaming or could it be used here? Do you want to continue with the cow head/skin theme, leaning SW in your decor? They aren't really "cozy and elegant," IMO. Is a new chandy in the picture? That one misses the mark on elegance. You need a minimum of 36-42" from the table top to any baseboards or furniture surrounding the table to allow for chair sit/scoot space. I'd do that measurement first. I really wouldn't want the rug jammed up against the exterior wall. Maybe the smaller, round table would be a better choice for using a rug here....See MoreHELP need area rug size for living room in nyc
Comments (18)So Sorry, But The strict rectangle rug shape on a diagonal makes NO sense unless the furniture angles with it. Looks exactly as what happened, The rug size not suited to space. WAH However, as also suggested above??Get a black and white zebra hide- ( any hide! ) play with the position !! You can even trim it. Double up and layer as you change directions! Freedom is again, the irregular shape and iconic blast of "pattern" This is 5 x 7. It's 299.00 At Wayfair . This you CAN angle and jiggle to suit your fancy! It's shape and decorative accent, allows you the freedom from "perfection"/ Matters not if a portion sneaks under a sofa and the rest doesn't. ! Matters not if a portion sneaks under the tv console!!! You can even LAYER a bold one over a more subtle, or get two the same and layer! The bonus? Spills wipe right off : ) any of them. https://www.wayfair.com/rugs/pdp/everly-quinn-khanna-animal-print-handmade-cowhide-zebra-blackoff-white-area-rug-bbmt4822.html Here's one in brown, 6 x 9 https://www.wayfair.com/rugs/pdp/world-menagerie-lahti-zebra-cowhide-beige-area-rug-wdmg2852.html Another at 6 x8 https://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Faux-Cowhide-Camel-Brown-Beige-Area-Rug-310-x-5/9775380/product.html?refccid=HGY5DTLFTGDLVVCNGLNNWX5D3Q&searchidx=19&kwds=&rfmt=material%3ACowhide&option=7210359 6 x 7.5 below https://www.perigold.com/rugs/pdp/saddlemans-animal-print-cowhide-blackoff-white-area-rug-sadl1095.html Great style, and so much fun : ) 6 x 8 below https://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/One-of-A-kind-Handmade-Real-Cowhide-Rug-From-Brazil-Big/28947395/product.html?refccid=HGY5DTLFTGDLVVCNGLNNWX5D3Q&searchidx=39&kwds=&rfmt=material%3ACowhide&option=51205192 Point is have some fun with it....See Morenjmomma
