Orchid ID Please...
Comments (21)Thanks Darlene, I missed your comment the first time around... Funny you should mention that shaved...for many years I always thought growing Orchids was very difficult...mostly due to the fact that the few I was given throughout the (many) years I always manage to kill...and never had I ever had any orchid live long enough to re-bloom,lol...until this time around. NeedIess to say its very exciting for me! Thank you for the links Arthurm...I will check them out. Here's a Cattleya (pretty sure) by some memebers here ID for me... bloomed a few weeks ago and still has a couple blooms left today... This was taken a few weeks back......See MoreOrchid ID please
Comments (2)arthurm I did suspect that this might be a species, rather than a hybrid, as it was growing in the grounds of one of the Temples associated with the Co Loa Citadel complex. Looking up your ID, I believe you are not far off the mark, if not bang on the nail. Thank you. Fof...See MoreOrchid ID please
Comments (8)Thanks guys. Harvey, When I repotted them I took my cue from the fat pbulbs as to media. All my orchids are in my shade/green house so high humidity. I only water these guys maybe every 3-4 days. I'd rather grow my plants in as natural way as possible so I'm thinking about mounting them on some cedar pieces I have. That way there's not much chance of overwatering, although I consider myself an underwaterer. I'm also considering planting them in those tree fern pots. I have my Brass nodosa and my D. lundleyi in those and really like the results. I'm retired so daily watering is easy....See MoreOrchid ID, please
Comments (7)Dave Those are the best images I could obtain. The plant is located in the Tropical Rainforest Biome at the Eden Project, Cornwall, UK Eden Project link This biome is approx 1.6 hectares (4 acres) of Rainforest, (largest indoor rainforest in the world) and like in the wild rainforest, the plants aren't always where one would like them to be for photographic purposes....See Morenicole___
