Help me design my powder room around this vanity

I hope we didn't make a mistake. We're completely renovating our condo. I've been struggling to find a narrow vanity for the powder room that I like. We'll be painting the walls white to keep it very light. It's a small room w no window. So, I didn't want a white vanity. I also didn't want a grey vanity. I also wanted a ceramic or porcelain white top for ease of cleaning, as opposed to marble. We won't have too much space so I wanted a door on the vanity to keep a toilet bowl brush hidden away but handy. With all that, we just ordered this vanity. Did we make a mistake? what color tile will we use? What color mirror? We are 'green' people but always choose the safe design options. This is not safe. Is brushed nickel ok with it? (we will change out hardware) Thanks for your help!

I really like this choice. I think green will be the next big thing. We seem to be seeing it more and more.

I like go this is presented. Gray and white look good with it.

I would google green vanity inspiration photos and see what comes up.

What size is the powder room? I'd think that most powder rooms don't have a window - as well as my own. I put up wallpaper with a pedestal sink that has the toilet in front of it.

I think if you can find a nice wallpaper it would compliment that vanity nicely.

Just finished tiling my bathroom and I too will be installing a contemporary dark cabinet (American standard studio.. http://www.americanstandard-us.com/products/productDetail.aspx?id=1925) but instead it will a have squared sink also sitting on top of a glass counter top. I wanted to somehow tie in the color of the glass tiles and counter top and this is the combo I came up with. my wife and just about anybody who has seen the bathroom absolutely loved it. Ill try and post some pics. Our Powder is approximately 4 x 6 but irregular in shape. We updated it a couple years ago using a darker blue wall covering. The ceiling has about 10% of the blue hue but I really don't believe the ceiling is noticed because the room size just doesn't call ones eyes upward. So from my experience unless you simply want the metallic paint I suspect few guests will ever take note. Like yours, our adjacent Family Room has lots of burgundy and tan. get a standing TP holder. why are you keeping dark vanity? can you paint it? what about the countertop? what's the new one look like? what kind of floor? black faucets are fine, but they have to work w/the overall look. this is a powder room. you can go bold in here. otherwise, changing out a toilet and mirror isn't going to do a whole lot It sounds as if you're updating, but keeping the same overall theme and look. why? If you want to update, then update it! change it. it's rather dull and very basic. black mirror, black tap, not going to change that. If you're spending the money to redo something, then redo it. There are so many great ideas you could do to make that room really pop. this picture is cool. why don't you do this? I suggest you look at powder room makeovers to get some other ideas.

"And what is the huge commitment? If you tire of wallpaper - even if it is the "real" kind, just change it. It is a small space and not a huge financial commitment." Helen, maybe I'm terribly unlucky but I still have leftover glue from the PO's wallpaper border in one of my bathrooms. (If only the vanity had that kind of durability :P). Also, don't know about Victoria's option but the wallpaper murals that tempt me end up running close to 1K for a small room. Must admit when I break down the wallpaper option, it daunts me quickly. Not trying to rain on anyone's parade as I love the look of many wallpapered powder rooms. @Victoria Holloway, forgot another alternative to wallpaper: paint stencil (depending on DIY-ability, etc.). Just sharing in case you want options. I wish you luck in your decision. Keep pattern scale in mind for best effect and if you go ahead with it, please share your "after" pics!

It's a lovely vanity, and I love that shade of green. Brushed nickel will be perfect with it. When I asked my designer where to start in terms of designing finishes, her response was to start anywhere: pick one thing you like: vanity (color/style), flooring, tile and build from there. I think you've got the perfect starting point.

On my monitor, your screen shot looks like a lighter green than what I came across — is this the same one?

I’m not sure what decorating style you like, how the rest of your house is styled, etc, so am just throwing a few ideas out there. Green vanities, white walls ... I like the ones with black in the tilework:

More of a neutral tile. Looks nice, but I think you could do a more fun tile, as green goes with just about anything.

@Jinx the color is called Pewter Green. Thanks for all the pics! I will try some tile with black.
@Carrie B Thanks...seems I see it with the black a lot but we really wanted the brushed nickel. I love that advice also!
@shirlpp I would need to find the dimensions but it's pretty small. I was thinking of wallpaper! I think I'll choose the tile first, then see about wall paper.
@eld6161 Thanks, we've always loved green. Would be fun if it became popular. I will do that Google search.
