dining room updating/decorating help needed!
Comments (22)I love your dining room and your dining room set! I like having a place for the family to have a quiet dinner. I share your fondness for the blue and white look. I think with the soft blue above and the white below, you could go with a chair fabric in a navy range, maybe in a lattice. This is a fabric I chose recently, but our dining room is part of the kitchen and that door opens to the garage. The general colors are similar though: Think how different it would be if you choose a lattice pattern or a stripe than if you went with a floral/botanical in essentially the same color range. I hadn't intended that entry mat to be part of the color scheme in the photo, but now that I look at it, a dark rug under your table is a possibility. Not black, but dark, and probably not a solid - it would show every speck. I'm not getting how the drapes fit into the room. The green stripe just seems not to go at all, but it must (even if not perfect) or you wouldn't have gotten as far as trying it out. Could you post a picture that shows how the drape wall fits into the rest of the room?...See MoreHelp me a dining room light fixture.
Comments (3)I'd be tempted to forgo the multiple-shade "chandelier" aspect since it clashes with the simplicity of the pendants. How about something with seeded glass that echoes the swoop of the pendants? Comments (18)Is your trim brown wood in other spaces? Not sure if one room with painted trim will work with spaces that are nearby. Or is the kitchen the outlier? There has to be a perfect warm white for your kitchen. Have you looked at BM Swiss Coffee? It has a beige (coffee) undertone as opposed to yellow or pink. Off white sounds right for this space with your cabinets, but nothing in the gray family or it will all get kind of dreary. I’m sure a Pro will correct me if I’m mistaken....See MoreInput Needed Please -- Dining Room Light Fixture
Comments (10)You select a fixture in a finish that works with the furniture in the room. You have a Queen Anne-style dining set. Fairly traditional in its style. The gilded fixtures are a nice complement. If you want to use bronze it cannot be too heavy or too modern. The furnishings in the foyer should also complement the furnishings in the dining room....See MoreFlo Mangan
