Mixing warm and cool shades of white paint throughout house

We recently redid our bathrooms and painted the walls with SW Snowbound. I need to repaint the living areas, and I’m struggling with a paint choice. These areas have a much warmer vibe, with a new warm tone gray carpet and brown couch. Snowbound seems too cool/gray, but mixing shades of white in the house also seems weird? Any advice?

Your living room doesn't have to match your bathroom. You can paint any color you want. None of the rooms in my house "match" each other.

I've paired grey walls with creams, golds and some Browns and even reds in my house too. (All warm colors). The greys I've used have brown in them too. The only time I see a problem in my house is in photos...sometimes the color looks more blue in my crappy camera photos but IRL they look good. At least in my opinion. I also found quite a few items that tie my choices together, area rugs, pillows, back splash, etc. I love these colors together

Mittens Cat, I also have light sensitivity due to migraines, chronic recurrent corneal erosion, and iritis (latter 2 cause scarring, vision loss, sometimes extreme sensitivity). I had to use 2700 k, but our kitchen has warm colors, and I actually wanted the warm light. 3000 k looks better with cooler colors IMO, but also can be used with warm shades. Still, my eyes couldn't tolerate it. I suggest you make very sure you can tolerate the 3000 k before making that commitment. DH put 3000 k in the utility room as they can be dimmed, and unless they are dimmed to the extent it's pretty dark, it's not tolerable for me. He had to change them to 2700 k. It is a warmer yellowish light as opposed to the cooler bluish light. Some people have a preference, others don't. Sorry if that adds to your spinning head : )

It sounds like you're investing in a fairly substantial remodel to your home to dramatically change the materials and colors from the current cohesive (if dated) look. When you make such a dramatic change, you really need to have an overall understanding of how to bring things together so it looks like the cohesive space you're dreaming of. Some people have that skillset and others do not. If you do not feel confident that you can figure this all out yourself, I think it would be wise to hire a designer. It would be really sad if you invested a lot in a remodel only to have it turn out to lack the cohesion you desire.

If you take a look at the Colorography for SW Snowbound, all credit goes to the genius of Lori Sawaya and her brilliant Camp Chroma library, you will see that Snowbound actually falls into the warm side of the Yellow Hue Family. Bathrooms are their own entity in design, as it's so easy to close the door. But I understand that you do want flow and consistency. Mixing whites is tricky but can be done well. It just takes a little more work.

You can use a warm white in the living areas, despite a cooler white in a bathroom. Lighting, windows, time of day, and other surfaces all change the way whites look. Choose what looks best with your flooring and furniture.
