Best Use Of Space: Care to help??

This walkout lower level of my Tri-level is getting a makeover. The problem is how we get to the laundry room, the bathroom, the furnace/mechanical room, and out to our patio causing a traffic flow headache.

This room is the main room me, my husband and 13yo son spend all of our time reading, watching TV, enjoying the natural wood fireplace, and the main way we access our patio and grill which we use a lot during the summer. We have a 46'' TV which means the main seating needs to be placed back far enough, leaving the area behind a bit cramped to get to the laundry room and bathroom. With the seating set back, the walk way to get outside passes in front.

Can you help suggest how to make the fireplace/TV the focal point and somehow have room to move around better? What type of furniture arrangement or styles would you recommend? Also, we do a lot of games, puzzles so possible a small table with chairs we could add so we can free up the kitchen table.
