desclansmom, that was a good idea. Thank you. I love the sconce color, they are tortoise shell. iris, the wall color in the picture is not the true color. It is Behr Harvest Brown. It is a mid tone taupe, the flash washed out the color, it is deeper. graywings, while I love the painting, the frame to me is a bit weak especialy from the side view, adding these sconces will beef up that a bit. Thanks for your opinion, charlie, I think you are right about the placement. artlover, thanks but I think that is a bit too high to put the sconces. I think centered on the picture and 4 inches out is better IMO.

' I'll be running into that in my new place with placement of furniture and a few large cabinets (craft and stuff storage). So, what I decided to do is use those strips plugged in behind the cabinets. I'll cut out where the outlet is inside the cab so I can access it (unplug if needed to replace) it thru there. One in the laundry room is higher up on the wall (for a freezer?) where I'll again do a cutout and then hang the strip on the wall beside it. It won't be used much - but just in case it's ever needed. Most other rooms will be ok - as far as I know now. I'll be glad to have an outlet on either side of my bed tho. and the large cabinets (and bookcases) will all be 'wired' to studs in the wall behind them. If I can find those studs - lol! I'm sure I'll have the 'stud finder' by then. marti - at least you are allowing some time to think that cabinet deal thru. After other projects settle down you'll be able to clear your head and get a better idea of which is more important to you - storage or 'cute'. I do like corner cabs in a DR myself!

You've gotten good advice here. One fan will be plenty for your room. You might even consider adding a light to the fan to provide overhead lighting when needed instead of recessed lights. You could install switched outlets for lamps or wall sconces for your ambient lighting, which is nicer to relax with than recessed lights, unless you put them on dimmers. There would be money saved if you skip the recessed lights and dimmer switch. We rarely use our recessed lights to have accent lighting at night, or to watch television. The spaces between the furniture are too tight to walk through the room with a platter of food or to pull out a chair at the table. You already figured out that the French doors and step are inoperable against the back of the loveseat. How much are you able to extend the length of your room? With a fixed width the 1'4" behind the sofa(loveseat) is too small to walk through. Could you push it back against the wall? Your table area is too tight to pull out a chair with 2' and 2'4" on some sides. Is it possible to use a smaller table for four instead of six? Using a smaller round table with chairs at 2 o'clock, 4 o'clock, 6 o'clock and 8 o'clock may work instead of pushing them back against the walls. One or two club chairs angled close to the corners of the French doors might work instead of the loveseat at the entrance. You have done a great job drawing the room and measurements. I don't have a program to help you try out different furniture, but hope some sweet soul will come along to assist you. As it looks the room is not large enough to carry out two rooms of furniture, unless you can expand your length. It will be fun watching your progress. This will be a lovely addition to your home.

@JustMe uggggg stop sending so many good ideas lol. So, I actually wired and have power waiting if I ever did want to add a light, but I love how open and clean the line of sight is from where I am (front door-ish) across the house so I never installed a chandelier. With regards to moving table 90, and relocating the console, I guess it could work, I haven't tested out that setup.....Ill have to run it by the wife, empty the mother effer (its heavy) and decide if I have the energy to move it just to get a visual lol. As far as couch off the wall, I don't mind that too. I was going to add a chair anyway with a coffee table, cant I do that as it is? Is adding a couch console too many? Need a mirror, is having artwork or mirrors on all walls a bad idea? Just when I though I was adding sconces and done.......
