Personally, I would not use flat paint on the exterior. Paint with some surface gloss is easier to clean and keep clean, IMO.

Our neighbors did Steamed Milk by Sherwin Williams with dark brown roof, trim and brick in terra cotta.....it was a repaint from dirty gold to the steamed milk, seemed stark at first but it is soooo pretty considering the house is 15 years old and more tuscan than anything......!Paint a large area if you are going from an existing dark color to see the white and not the contrast.

are you staying w/the cement tiles ? you can get them in a lower profile. I think that style fits your home. I just redid mine. these are actually a charcoal blend, but look very light gray once on the roof (I should stand in my neighbors yard to get a picture in the back. they have the best view of my roof!) and yes, my trees need pruning! Awww I think its a sweet little house - siimplicity is a GOOD thing, IMHO. Some of these McMansiony things you see on this forum - too busy and visually chaotic for my tastes with their multiple roof lines, and 15 different exterior finishes thrown together. When was it built? You could go in a 1920s cottage direction with it, or something more 1940s-50s midcentury. Once we can see the roof, I would think of 3 colors - 1 for the siding, 1 for all the trim + window sashes + garage door, and 1 for the front door + the trim around the front door. And make sure these all relate well to your roof, since it is prominent. Door - replace front door with something jazzier, but keep it simple.
