These are 4 x 6 but might spark some ideas for you. I know you said you had looked at Pinterest so I hope these are new to you. You can also search here on Houzz but their search results are pretty horrible because you can't narrow searches down very effectively.

I would put hanging clothes on each 4' side - a single rod on one side, and double rods (for shirts and blouses) on the other. That gives you 12' for hanging clothes. Position the rods to allow space for shelving above and below the rods: put the single rod as high as you can reach, so you can put shoe racks underneath (or shelves for the storage you need most). Put shelves above the double rods for for longer-term storage, like out of season clothes.

In the middle I'd put shelves floor to ceiling, 2' wide, 12" deep. If you are in the midwest, Menards has reasonably priced DIY shelving that is easy to assemble and sturdy, and you can put in as many shelves as you want, or buy slide-out baskets or drawer kits.

And don't forget The Container Store.

At one time we had California Closets design and install their system in our similar sized closet. It worked very well. We had drawers and special shoe racks and lots of space for hanging clothes and even storage.

We have used California Closets for a one dimensional closet. When it was time to do this master closet, we were not impressed with the presentation and cost.

We interviewed 3 other family run companies and chose one. We were able to visit the showroom to see the quality.

I never realized how many closet companies are out there.

There are sites online where you can plug in your measurements and pick your options. Easyclosets.com is one that comes to mind.
