What color quartzite for grey cabinets?

I will be selling my house and need to add some pizzazz to my kitchen. My ugly brownish/cream granite cracked during a family party mishap. My kitchen is somewhat current but does not have anything really special. The price point of my house, 500,00, is at a price in my area where people have lavish kitchens with big islands. I do have expensive Rutt cabinets but my kitchen is a smallish U shape. Given all the disadvantages I need to jazz it up and am hoping some lavish quartzite counters will elevate the room. I also unloaded my old bosch refrigerator. It had rust spots and was just ugly. I replaced it with a sleek Samsung smart hub refrigerator. I want my kitchen to convey a very modern, luxurious ascetic. I have read that the kitchen and master bath sell the house. My house overall is gorgeous. I painted the walls a linen color and have red oak floors throughout. I also have 13 foot ceilings. My appliances are Miele. I need to sell my home and the competition is feirce. What co!or quartzite should I consider?

See if someone can fix your granite to make it look like it is a vein rather than replacing. At your price point the kitchen will probably be gutted.

Yeah, same here, like it's a dolomite or marble. You get so tired of looking, you're like "I don't care any more!!" lol. Actually, it's not funny. It's a true investment that gets used daily...so it DOES need to hold up and endure. I too am a messy cook and am a person that doesn't mind if something sits on the countertop for a few hours esp when you're having a party -- what's on my countertop is my least concern!

And if you haven't seen it, my kitchen is green and white. I have a very busy quartzite. As a full slab it looks almost overwhelming but once on a horizontal surface, it calms down quite a bit without overwhelming the rest of the kitchen. Also I have lots of reds, oranges, peaches and purples in mine too but once it's all down, it doesn't override the greens. Nobody asked for the full context. I did, as she wrote"my floor is ceramic beige and cream tones" Call it big trouble in "river city" .....from her private message. Wait until the op returns. Paint is the least of the issue right now. To others.......... When we prod and poke beyond your obvious question? We do it for a reason, and it isn't to annoy you. Ask FIRST before major investments in any partial refresh of anything. : ) but especially kitchens and baths.

@tiny spider pictures would help probably?

we are in a hot seller's market so literally minimal work needed on houses. is your market better for buyers or sellers? That would make a difference in how much I would want to spend.

I like above idea to see if granite can be fixed so it's good to go.

Not possible to fix the granite because the price was jagged and tossed. I could go with a white granite to see 1500 but I like the idea of the quartzite. If for some reason it doesn't sell I personally would like the quartzite.

A house 2 doors down that was put on the market last week and have seen no activity and this has me worried. Our street is a construction zone with a 20 story building going up about 500 yards from my front door. My area is an area of transition but house hunters might just see the dust and hear the house this I need to give my home a bit boost with really nice counters.

It is impossible to guess what would work with your cabinets without a pic of the kitchen. What color gray are the cabinets? There are many different gray colors.

No way to guess without seeing your kitchen and even with pictures, it's tough to tell because there is so much variation in slabs. Best bet is to take a cabinet door with you to the stone yard and see what you like.

But if you're living in a hot sellers market, I honestly wouldn't even bother. Price it to sell knowing that your kitchen will likely be a gut job anyway. The price on your house will be the biggest driver to selling it quickly rather than a kitchen with a few bandaids that might not even suit the buyer's taste.

IMO get the cheapest nice looking counter and in probablt white or white with gray specks or veins and be done. I think the house will be ahard sell with a 20 storey building going up near it but with no idea of the house or what your area looks like we are only guessing. BTW a week is avery short time to expect much action especially in this Covid mess. If you really want help post pictures.
