Mattress comfort is very personal. My suggestion is to buy it from somewhere that will accept a return and process a full refund within a few months (other than delivery/pickup) if you're not happy with it.

all of the on-line companies i have looked at, offer a full refund after X amount of days. if we can limit some of guess work with real world experience, than that would be most helpful.

I have not looked but from experience make certain that full refund also includes the cost of picking it up, packaging for return and shipping charges. Some will just return the cost of whatever you are purchasing. The cost of the full refund was just about covered the cost of the shipping.

The poster wrote that he, I think it was, had purchased a mattress (more than one, I think) from Wayfair, provided a link to it, and that they were happy with it. I ended up ordering it and have been quite satisfied with it, too.

found PlushBeds luxury bliss and it hits all the marks. little leary since 98% reviews are 5 star. did find some negative. kind of under the gun so have to pull trigger soon!

Dh was a firm bed sleeper and I’m a completely soft bed sleeper, our latex mattress was ordered on line, we each got to choose our own combination of soft/firm. It’s probably 6-7 years old now and there are still no complaints. We bought it sight unseen from SleepEz and couldn’t be happier.

To help clear up some misconceptions on latex bedding.

All latex beds are a mix of natural and synthetic. A 100% natural latex bed will crumble, its requires the synthetic agent as a binder in the mattress. I am a dealer for Royal-Pedic beds made in California, they have the highest natural latex content in their mattress at 91%, 9% synthetic. The latex core is produced in Europe, and its my understanding that one factory there makes all the solid cores for every high end bed maker, they are apparently very complex to do. They are also expensive when done right with a Cali King set selling for around $ 7,000. That will be a 20-year bed, however.

Most latex beds on the market will have primarily synthetic latex due to the high cost of natural latex. Contents of most are 80 to 90% synthetic, 10 to 20% natural.

There are no springs in a pure latex mattress.

Did you know that its illegal to resell returned bedding? They either go to the dump or are donated to a shelter. Health Department regulations require all materials be removed and only the spring grid (not applicable to a latex bed) can be re-used. This is not something any bed maker can afford to do, so the thought that you can return bedding after using it tells me that any manufacturer doing so is selling you a cheap bed at a high price in order to be able to throw out any returns if they offer that option. Those beds-in-a-box that are so popular right now don't last and are not very good.

i do understand that latex comes from overseas. in Spindle's case the latex is processed/formed in PA.

"Their" case for returns: most people love their beds and returns are minimal. On-line companies are willing to have small percentage return them since they "believe" in their product. their return products do go to shelters or the dump.

I am not really a bedding dealer per se, I only carry Royal-Pedic and that's for selfish reasons, because its what I want to sleep on in my own house and I do have one in every bedroom and have had for 25 years.

The bedding industry is a nastiest and dirtiest segment of the furniture business. It's full of lies, deceit and bogus warranties. It's a part of the business I want no part of because what I found out many years ago is most people don't want to pay for quality bedding and are more than willing to take in the sales pitches if it suits their budgets. Then when the bed fails in under 5 years, the phone calls to the dealer starts wanting free replacements. Ugh, not for me.

Two things I will recommend. 1) Don't buy a bed until you spend some time on it in a display showroom. By that, at least 15 minutes. 2) Any bed worth owning does not come to you in a box

I'm very happy selling only Royal Pedic and do about a set a month, that's it. I get zero returns and complaints on them, ZERO. Customers are happy because they usually go 20 years on them. The price point can turn some off, but cost per useful years of use is actually quite reasonable when amortized.

just in case anyone was following this thread, wanted to let him/her know that i ordered from Plushbeds. we ordered the Luxury Bliss in medium since we are considered 'light weight' sleepers and sleep mostly on our sides.

all i can say is PHEW!! what a job that was. so much to research, watching YouTube videos from reviewers. digesting all that info. exhausting. i actually lost sleep over it. (hehe)

it will be here in about 2 weeks, so i will report back when its received and we have slept on it for a couple of weeks....we have 100 night trial but they tell you to sleep on it for 30 days before deciding to return. Finger crossed we sleep "like the dead"

(I had gone through 4 or 5 mattresses over the past 10 years and am so happy with this one. Finally.)

We've been very pleased with the latex/encased coil springs mattresses we bought last October. Amorebeds.com is a Chicago company that free-ships everywhere. Our pair of extra-long twins -- used as a king -- cost just over $1K total. Each twin weighs 70b lbs. They rest on an existing pair of 6" tall box 'springs' (no real springs and none required). The mattresses are 12" tall. We chose 'firm', knowing we could order a king 'topper'. We didn't need one. You can order a split-firmness mattress if you want.

We had 'tried on' pure latex mattresses (Nest) but missed springs, and I thought they were very expensive. The Amore mattresses arrived very nicely finished and have held up well -- slight indentations from our bodies, nothing like the hammocks(!) that other much more expensive mattresses developed within a month or two. We're 106 and 175 lbs. I can recommend Amore.

Yes, it's latex and coils -- their 'Luxury Hybrid". There are also layers of wool and cotton.

I bought a foam mattress that is half man-made half natural from The Mattress Factory. I like it. But what I don't like is it's weight. Supposed to flip and turn it every so often. But it's really difficult it doesn't get done hardly at all. It's heavy and floppy like wrestling with lead weighted jello.

I see. I ended up ordering a Real Bed queen mattress from Charles P. Rogers and a platform foundation (with rounded corners so I don't bang my legs as badly as usual!) from Winkbeds. We will have to put a piece of Masonite between the mattress and foundation as the slats aren't close enough together. We shall see how this turns out.

sjerin -- That sounds very much like our Amore bed. Both feature three inches of latex. Yours has two layers of wool; ours has one. Similar cotton tops. Difference in other layers. IDK how many coils in yours. Our pair of XL twins would cost $600 more from Rogers, but would each weigh 18 more pounds, too. (I've been amazed at how *little* some of the big brand *saggy* beds weigh -- nothing IN there and a cheap wood frame, methinks!)

Hope you like yours as much as we like ours. Impressive warranties on that site! (Ours is 20 years, which is longer than I will last.)

We Love our Bed! all is great. i wll say it did take some getting used to, seemed a little firm for me, DH could sleep on concrete, but my body adjusted and now i love getting into bed every nght!! So i can safely recommend this bed

the company was great to work with & answered their phone. one piece, comes in 2, was 'lost in transit', they sent out another which arrived before the first. the original arrived about 5 days later,.

i called to let them know that the original arrived, they were shocked and pleased, had FedEx pick it up for return and credited us $100 for our trouble.
