Also wanted to add that our kitchen cabinets (which we aren’t repainting right now) are an off white color that is slightly darker than the trim and there’s a very stark difference between the cabinets and trim, as noted in the picture below. Also including a pic of the custom paint formula and a pic of the cabinets against the original trim for reference.

Wow. I just wrote down all your paint colors and I think I counted over 11! I have to say, the first thing I feel compelled to seek is some unification of colors. I have to consider all your choices and current tones and hues in day light. I will be back tomorrow. We will figure it out!!

Whoa...... was there a reason for so many colors? Here ya go @Flo Mangan Maybe help keep this straight. I would stick with the recommended Greek Villa. Yes its creamy for sure but you have to have some continuity.

My problem with Greek Villa is it tends to go pink.

Can original poster post photos of all the rooms with the colors in them? Lets see how the greek villa is playing on your dining room ceiling? I am wondering if the colorist suggested similar colors, for instance the Gossamer Veil and repose gray because of lighting changing the color from room to room. Is this a true craftsman period home or a new home built in the craftsman style? I ask because Craftsman homes or the bungalow style homes that are period usually are somewhat dark due to the roof line over hang. But the pictures look like a new home based on the windows.

IMO too many different colors to start with which now makes choosing trim color that much more complicated. IMO do a simple white and before choosing that make sure your lighting is all LED in 4000K ( daylight) since incandescent or edison bulbs make everything yellow

Hi all - yes, it’s a lot of color. But after many years of renting, we are thrilled to be in a position where we got to choose the paint colors and we really love how it all turned out - except for the trim, of course. The previous owners made a lot of interesting paint choices (like SW Denim in the guest bath and bedrooms 🙈), so we were forced to repaint anyways.

I don’t know if the home was originally a Craftsman, but it was built in the 50’s and taken down to the studs in 2014 - hence the new windows. Our home faces the West and we have several large oak trees in our yard, so for the most part, the house is really lacking in natural lighting (except for the dining room). We’ve added some more recessed lighting in the main area to lighten things up and are also in the process of switching all the light bulbs from soft lighting. We also have low ceilings - I think 9’ tall?

Here is the dining room - ignore the light fixture as it’s not staying.

Main area - try not to focus too much on the granite. Kitchen will be updated in the next year or two. This color is throughout the main area of the house and is carried thru to the second level hallways and game room walls.

Laundry room - our washer and dyer is white, FYI.

A very pretty house and even though you have a lot of colors, making trim a challenge, they are pretty harmonious I believe. I would actually try SW plain base coat for trim. It has no color added so it is nice. Get a piece of baseboard, prime it and put a couple of coats of the satin finish on it and see what it looks like in the different rooms. That will give you either a win, or a good perspective on what direction to go with the trim color.

What color are all your doors? Why not match them?

Thank you, Flo! The base color of the trim paint we have is High Tide White. Not sure what that looks like, but we’ll test it out!

Design Interior South: the doors are the same color as the majority of the trim (the baseboards in the downstairs living area were painted Pure White by the seller - they used latex over an enameled surface and it’s all peeling now 🙈) and they look a little yellow/dingy in certain rooms. We also have no idea what the original trim/door color is so I’m not sure how best to get that matched by SW.

Oh my ! That stinks as you will have to sand/strip them back before properly priming and painting. Can you paint consultant do a color match for you on the door color?
