Wanting a corner sink, but no IKEA option, help please
Comments (59)Hello @Janie Gibbs, Thanks No rush... I've been obsessively looking at your kitchen. It really does make so much use out of every inch. I am planning my kitchen right now and I have a few questions hoping you can help. 1-From the left wall of sink to the wall of the fridge what are the measurements? 2-Do you have the actual measurements of the finished corner sink hack? Trying to map out my renovation and want to plan accordingly 3-What is the model of dishwasher? Do you recommend? 4-Do you think that's the biggest sink you can fit in the corner space or can it go a bit bigger? 5-Do you think a slide in range would make sense? Is there any issues with your range being so close to sink? 6-Thank you so much your kitchen really inspires me...See MoreMore Ikea help - gaps between base cabinets
Comments (60)I deleted my comment, toyed around with it in IKEA's website and realized that if I moved the stove to the fridge wall I'd have to get rid of my lower cabinet and add 2 12's.... Not nearly as functional. There would be a plus to being able to see into the living room, but the negative is that I would always be in the way when I'm cooking. Our fridge can't go into the corner because of our heater, even beside the window is out because of that. I think I'm just going to be stuck with some filler pieces. At the end of the day, it'll be 1000x more functional than it is now. I do think that I'm going to move the microwave beside the fridge, and put a nice hood over my range. Will just have to adjust the height of my cabinets on the basement wall. ETA: Weird question... if I use 20 inch cabinets above the microwave, can I line up the bottom of that cabinet with the bottom of the fridge cabinet and have them at different heights? I can't find a taller fridge cabinet.... is there one? Kitchen with hood...See MoreDelima with small u-shaped Ikea kitchen with corner cabinets
Comments (17)I have a similar issue with a corner cabinet. I have space for 44" but have an IKEA corner cabinet in a 47" that came with the house (we bought in October). The kitchen was in process of being remodeled and the kitchen was still in boxes. This is the only area we are having an issue with. If we use the 47" completely, it will offset my sink and window. Can't move those items. Would we be able to cut 3" off of the backside of the 47" cabinet and be ok? The door will have to be custom-made, I understand. It still leaves plenty of space in which to get into the cabinet. We also know we'd have to modify the large shelf that goes with it (again, 3" off of the back). My kitchen is slightly larger than the image above. Sink in same place and a 12" cabinet to the right that butts up against our refrigerator. This is our only problem child. The previous owners didn't leave us with anything other than the floorplan of what they were going to do. We're novices...at best. lol We currently have no cabinets in, the floors had to be completely redone and look amazing now. We had to put in some new outlets and redo the drywall. We're at the cabinet stage of our kitchen redo....See MoreKitchen Trash Pull Out vs Stand Alone
Comments (26)You're both right. There have been posts about this before (use google instead of the houzz search engine) and people feel pretty strongly. I go both ways. :) I now keep dog food in my trash pullout. If your family is a bit messy, that cabinet will get gross if it's not cleaned often. (It's usually not the actual trash; it's the splatters.) If you do not have a good spot for a free-standing can, the pullout is great. In my previous kitchen, I retrofitted a nasty old cabinet with a pullout and it was an improvement. In the remodeled one, once we stopped using the pullout for trash, things became nicer....See MoreMalbec
