Comments (5)For a non-cased opening, usually you still have baseboard. That baseboard return will sandwich the sliding closet door. The door slab will butt up to the drywall face. You will only see the mud not extending down to the floor for the width of the door slab, and only when it is open. I have never seen a house with this situation done differently than this. You can clean it up a bit more with mud, but I wouldn't expect a finisher to have done that without being told (then reminded) to do so. Comments (2)I would put a double type door on the closet that matches the other interior doors you have. You will then have a full opening, not a smaller opening, like the bypass slider doors have. I do have the bypass sliders here. I hated them so much, that the bedroom ones, are off and out in my work shop, and I have hung draperies in their place. Should I decide to sell, I will take down the draperies and put the doors back on....See MoreP C
