You ever been moments from something awful?

I took my beloved to University today. Gave me an extra hug. I sat at mile marker 297 a half hour, and creeped for a mile 20 minutes more. The worst accident I have ever seen. There was a tractor-trailer that was literally lying on its side, wedged between the mountain and the guardrail. As I sat there waiting, five ambulances went past with lights, sirens, and at full speed. I just realized moments ago, that when it probably occurred (it was MM 295 when I got stopped), I was literally praying. I was asking God for his focus, and protection. That's how hard the rain was coming down. I could barely see. Undoubtedly, that is what caused the accidents. Yes plural. Multi-vehicle. Had I not had that extra hug, I totally would have been in the middle of all that. I can't stop shaking and crying. I'm so glad and I'm so sorry. It also makes me think of all the people didn't get on planes, or go to work on 9/11.

I bet there are loads of people that have those kind of stories.
