Sanitize or Allergene cycle for sheets and towels. Hot/boiling water works; I'll only consider washers with an onboard heater. Double and triple rinse; I won't buy a washer without multiple rinse options. Get a washer with super high spin speeds to extract as much soapy water as possible with each rinse. The drive toward energy savings, specifically less water and cold temps, has resulted in filthy laundry with detergent residue. If the detergent were really being rinsed out with just the standard cold wash, one rinse cycles, why would so many people need "Free and Clear" detergents? I actually read advice online that said when your towels start to smell bad, you know it's time to replace them. Huh? Send them through the sanitize cycle with a commercial laundry detergent instead. If washers have gotten so energy efficient that we're throwing out perfectly good towels, you have to wonder just how much eco-savings we've achieved.

Well, I finally moved into the renovated house and have the following comments about the Nexxt 800 washer. Per ascotgranny above, the manual does not list the rinse temps for any wash cycle. Very likely, because EVERY rinse is WARM! I just learned this today! How DARE Bosch claim that they have a "Hand wash" cycle for very delicate easy care items that require hand washing" Anything I own that requires hand washing also usually requires being washed (and also RINSED) in COLD water! What good does choosing a COLD wash do if your items are then rinsed in very warm water? I washed a load on COLD regular wash and if finished with very warm clothes. To make sure the hoses weren't reversed, I washed a load on HOT regular wash, and it finished with the items the same temp as the cold wash finished! I then washed some slightly delicate items on the Hand Wash setting and they also finished warm! I also had to update this thread with new info., because apparently the Bosch Nexxt 800 washer that I saw at Karl's in NJ has been updated to eliminate the Rinse/Spin button! I stated above that it had the Rinse/spin option, one option that was important to me, and it DOES NOT have it! Be warned of these unadvertised changes, which are negatives against the Bosch 800 imo. I'm going to research other washers and see if I can still get mine replaced due to these disappointments.

You can find the parts you need at any local hardware store and they are relatively cheap. Parts You need: 2ea. 1/4" compression needle line stop valve 1ea. 1/4" compreesion Tee 1/4" copper tube to make the additional lines. Tools you will need: Tubing cutter to cut the copper. (I prefer a mini cutter for 1/4") Two wrenches that fit the valves..(two 8" adjustable wrenches would do fine) Cut the pipe where you want the tee to the first appliance. Remove an and cap off the tee but be careful, there is a tiny brass ferrule under that cap that you need. First slip the cap on the copper with the open side of the cap pointing towards the cut end of the copper tubing. Now slip the ferrule on the tubing. (the ferrule looks like a miniature mans wedding ring). Insert the end of the pipe into the fitting as far as it will go, then slide the cap forward, pushing the ferrule up against the end of the fitting and screw the cap on the end of the fitting finger tight. Now hold the fitting steady with one wrench while you tighten the cap with the second wrench. Follow the diagram in the illustration I am attaching and use the same technique to tighten all the fitting caps.

I finally got out this horrid smell by running 4 gallons of white vinegar through a gallon at a time on Tub clean cycle. I just dumped a whole gallon at a time into the tub and then ran the cycle. My wife had called proctor and gamble 800 number and they told her use vinegar but she tried 2 cups and that seemed to do nothing. After 3 gallons we were getting close, but still about 25% of full original stink remained. My wife called LG and they said remove drain hose from drain pipe (the one in the wall). (TIP, have a bucket ready to catch the residual water in your drain hose. They also said leave washer door wide open for 24 hours. We have a small ceiling fan in the laundry room and we left that on as well. Probably down to about 10% stink at that point, so I ran one more gallon of white vinegar on regular cycle and we are back to normal. We will only use Afresh tablets now in the tube clean cycle.
