I think these are in the sunflower or tickseed family but not sure? Growing in high or filtered shade in the central NC woods, mostly on bottomlands near the creek. Last year they bloomed in September. And they seem to be spreading, which is fine since it takes a tiny bit of real estate away from the japanese stiltgrass.
