Design Dilemma Storage & Closet

help!!!!ideas please

Bought an existing house.previous owner bumped out the closet into the bedroom for a walk in. Love the closet space but not the look..unfinished plywood on top any suggestions other than removing. We considered bringing to the ceiling but the skylight is in the way. Help!!!

Thanks! Most of the things in the front were there already, I just trimmed some back to allow others to take over more of the spotlight. The hostas have been subject to several harsh trims in order to let the iris and bleeding hearts show through. The shrubs in the background were also harshly pruned so they stay back in the background as I do not really like shrubs but the owner said I had to keep them. I did tear out several large shrubs and bushes though, making open spaces, it was all overgrown. I also added mulch, which made them pop more, I think. I went out today and trimmed the large bushes up above my head, I got sick of getting a face full of bush when mowing under them (the hydrangea and lilac). Unfortunately, they are all being eaten by a wood boring pest that my landlord refuses to acknowledge, so this will probably be their last year, then they will have to be taken out or at least severely cut back to the ground. Hopefully I have found a nicer, more rural apartment by then. :) I do feel like I have improved this one, though, so I am staying positive!

Pretty bedding -- and I love your ideas! :) How about this paint color -- and fresh white trim (try BM White dove) with fresh white sheers (for the warm weather) -- and then add rich dark chocolate brown velvet panels for the cooler weather. You could also do white sheets for a change with your bedding ... again ... nice for the warmer weather. Add lots of pewter/silver items around the whole room -- silver photo frames; maybe add a silver tray on a dresser with a silver-framed mirror? Why not enlist women now who will pose for a chapter calendar? Each member or a couple of them could each pick a month and dress for that month. Take lots of poses,pick the best ones and then have the pictures made into a calendar. Since you have around 22 ladies you could even do an eighteen month calendar. Start collecting candy and trinkets now for the main holiday months. Halloween stuff is out now and you'll have Thanksgiving,Christmas,News Years,Mardi Gras,St. Patricks and even Easter things by March. May could be Cinco de Mayo,June is graduation month,July is the 4th, August is beach days and September is fall or back to school. Make a sheet cake for dessert to resemble a calendar. Don't forget to play Neil Sedaka's Calendar Girl at the party.

Yum Sounds like a perfect meal plan. I like a puree with lamb chops. I need something creamy with fork bites then with the bone handle nibbles. Carrot roasted first with a garlic head to sweeten it, and a couple small slices of sweet potato...and maybe a shallot, Fresh lemon while puree, cumin and a mild spice...summer savory. Shanks i want a bed of tiny veg. Carrot, leek, shallot, celery. Very tiny but that might just be my recipe. Very special on its own, the shank, almost slides off the bone into its own broth on the veg. If just the two of us, it is always mashed potato. Chop or shank. And whatever assertive veg i have on hand. Sous vide will be great. Not had shank since i've had mine. Doing the bag brûlée or wide ball jar? Bag method sounds easier. Not tried it yet. Pasteurized eggs last weekend for the first time, : ) Is your sea trout whole or fillet? I'm guessing it is similar to Alaskan or Atlantic salmon. Fillets i cut into squares, about the size of a lemon slice (freeze the thin tips and parts for a later chowder meal)...fresh dill and lemon slice one side, a bit of olive oil. The skin i marinate in fish sauce and soy and avocado oil, (takes high heat), under the broiler to crisp. Tiny bed of blanched leek and asparagus ribbons, toss in lemon juice, a few capers, fresh pea shoots...i just made marinated yellow mustard seeds last weekend...but that needs a few days to set/swell. Couple slices of avocado...can you tell what i'm having for dinner, lol. Bigger fillets as it is the main meal. Smaller is a great app. (i have everything but fresh dill, darn) Sous vide does allow lots of free time to amp up the plating beauty and makes timing a breeze. (take pics!)

The thing that really makes the closet extension look odd is the angled top. If you could flatten the top it would look a bit better. Use wallboard and paint the whole extension to match the walls. You would still have the nice closet space. The top would need to be dusted anyway, but the weird angle would be gone.

Yes, if you flatten the top of the closet, you can put baskets that are decorative on top but that also hold things you don't use often. Also, it will look less awkward.

The weird angle makes it funny-looking. The first two suggestions above (fix the top of it and extend it along the whole wall) will make it look like it was meant to be there. Painting plywood never looks good. Dry wall should be installed for a cleaner, more professional result.

You have to straighten out the top of the roof first and foremost ..., then apply high gloss paint on top to make cleaning easier and perhaps put some pretty storage cases or a group of basket on top for decoration ..no matter what you put its need dusting regularly so you don't get an allergy when the dust flies when the fan is moving . I would then paint that entire wall a darker color ...then the rest ...even just a few tones darker then the rest ...so the closet doesn't look like the addition / aft thought that is .
If you have room to switch the bed to the other wall ...so that the entrance is free and give you more space to sit ...or for a painting or move the large mirror ......you have to make it your space by trying different things ....but first you have to change the roof and make it a straight line across .
And look at some natural colors to decorate the room for serenity in the bedroom ... Look at HOUZZ for inspiration ....
