Need help picking kitchen cabinet color
Comments (3)IMO the counter would be my first change , adding molding to the ceiling in that small space will feel like the cabinets are falling on your head. You do not show pics of the rest of the kitchen . But I would keep to one color fro the cabinets and if that counter has to stay then for sure no greige. If you are changing the sink you might have to really hunt for a sink that fits that cutout....See MoreNeed help with kitchen cabinet paint color
Comments (2)This is what I would do if you guys can't really agree on what could work, and your painter needs your choice soon. Get some 1/2" foam core boards (the 1/4" ones will bend and twist) and get sample paint for your top 3-5 choices, dark and light ones (this will be much cheaper than a repaint). Paint your boards (you can use both sides) and place them against your cabinet doors. Look at them in the morning, afternoon and evening to see how the color changes. If you're feeling brave, I would go with a dark green in the lowers and a soft white (not yellow, santa cecilia will reflect yellow which is why you have to see which white could work in your room) in the uppers...something different than what you had. The green will break up all of the brown tones. Benjamin Moore will be your best bet for amazing deep tones, hopefully your painter can match it with a quality cabinet paint. Adjust your wall paint according to your cabinets. Good luck!...See MoreNeed help picking Kitchen Cabinet Paint Color
Comments (27)Laurie, I too love your inspiration picture. No one I know can afford to renovate their home every 10 years and keep up with the latest trend. I have found the key is to pick out what I will be happy with in 10 years or 20 years or longer and getting what makes me happy. I wish picking the perfect cabinet color was as simple as saying BM Simply White or SW White Duck, but to get just the right white is a bit trickier than that. If you have a sample of your back splash I would take it to the BM store or the SW store and look at all of their whites next to the back splash. Pick out a bunch that are close to the lighter colors in your back splash. Then go outside in the sun and look at them again - eliminate the ones that are not quite right. Sunlight will give you the truest vision of the color. Whites are quite funny and can appear too blue or too green or too yellow or pink next to other colors. If you will be using a satin or gloss finish the cabinets may appear lighter than you expect because light will reflect more from shinier finishes. Keep this in mind when selecting the color samples. Get a pint of your final selection and paint another sample before committing to the color for all the cabinets. After you find 6 ish good candidates order a few samples from https://samplize.com/ or buy a few sample cans and make your own samples. I like using 140 lb water color paper for samples from Michael's. Heavy enough not to curl or warp. Get a pint of your final selection and paint another sample in the same gloss you will be using for the cabinets before committing to the color for all the cabinets. You can always use this paint as a first coat if you decide that it is too light or just a bit off....See MoreI need Help with kitchen cabinet colors
Comments (1)Here is a great place to start New to Kitchens Read me First Do you have some photos of the travertine flooring? And perhaps photos of the space including your black, gray and light gray furniture. What brands of cabinet is the Drizzle or the Drift of Mist? I am not familiar with the color names. What is your budget? What is the size of space you will be working on? Do you think it will look good with the door to pantry and the built in tall cabinet to have the darker color? If I paint my cabinets this color, what color for countertops? I'd have to see some of the space before I could give you an opinion. Are you painting cabs or purchasing them? I guess I thought the drift of mist was the name of a color from a cabinet company. Maybe you mean paint. Counters? There are 1000s of options and I bet you will find something you love with the cabinets. What do you like? Material? Marble, Quartzite, Corian, Granite....? Here are some ideas of cabinet colors that could work with travertine floors and work with the furniture you describe. I can't wait to see what you come up with. Brookhaven has this pretty gray color. Kraftmaid Sage and mushroom Travertine can be gray or beige or even cream color. What are yours?...See MoreHU-880933159
