I like the first drawing. I have 36" between my fridge and range, and sometimes wish I had more.

Hi can we get an aerial view of the floor plan and dimensions? I agree with mama goose the first one is more cohesive.

All those base cabinets should be drawers and I like wide drawers is that the only outside wall? Is that one door of a lazy susan cabinet on the right ?Why not 2 banks of 30” drawers with split shallow drawers on top that way you have room for pots and then gadgets in the shallow drawers

Have you tired centering the range between the upper cabinets? (33 and 21+12)

I agree with mama goose - first drawing. This is pretty much my kitchen layout, and other than the island, the countertop between the fridge and stove sees the most action!

Are we to guess the dimensions of the kitchen, or will you tell us? Wait...I can’t hear you from the far end of the island! Can you hear me now? I like a minimum of 48” between an island and any adjacent cabinetry or appliance. I like the first drawing.

I have mine in a similar set up, but I have a wall oven,,,small bank of drawers, and then my stove top

And absolutely do large drawers instead of the door option.

Cherie, I think so, is this is what you were thinking? I love how the cabinets look I felt like those little drawers to the side were kind of wasted space but I do like that one too. Here is a drawing of that that includes the sink wall.

I agree 4 feet is ideal but our house is kind of small and is an older 60s home so with limited space I am hoping that 3 feet 6 will be enough.

Patricia, yes that is a lazy Susan door to the far right. I love the drawer idea but I have question about that, I have kept some of the bottom cabinets that way because I have a lot tall/large items to store such as ice cream maker, popcorn popper, electric griddle etc., is there a better way to store those then just in a cabinet?

Mama goose and anjiz thank you so much for the feedback! I prefer that one as well but I was so afraid of having the range poking out around it. I’m glad to hear that it worked out so well for you!

Looking at your dimensions of the cabinets it only equals ten feet eight inches of space and the wall from corner to end is 12 feet 8 inches..right

How much space do you have before the fridge? 2” leaving 24” for blinder?

Cherie, yes are you talking about the back wall? Yes it is 10 and half feet, plus the two feet of counter to the wall and then two inches or so for panels on the fridge.

Visually, the first layout with the cooktop centered between the fridge and wall is symmetrical and therefore is very attractive. You have ample (4 ft is ideal and you have 5ft) counter space in your cooking/baking zone. I have 44” between my oven and my island, so I have room to open the oven door but must stand beside it when taking out hot casseroles and heavy Thanksgiving Turkey.

If you opt to center the range between the cabinets, I would change the drawers on the left to 36" wide and the 4 drawer cabinet on the left a plain cabinet for cookie sheets and cutting boards. The drawer boxes take up too much internal cabinet space to hold much of anything.

Marylut, thank you so much for your feedback! That is a great point about the prep space! I have about a foot less than that currently and I have thought it would be so much more convenient to have more.

Mdln, thank you for marcolo discussion! I would love to put the fridge there so I could center the range to the island. I think it would be ideal to have the pantry and fridge together on that end but to do that I would have to put the sink in the island and apart from the plumbing, the sink has a great view of backyard/pool that I don’t think I should change. I tried to put the pantry next to the fridge in the current arrangement but it just seemed so cramped. I am hoping the fairly small triangle will keep things manageable :)

I like the plan as drawn. You have IWSF, plus a conveniently separate clean-up zone, so that no one needs to enter the prep triangle to unload the DW or gather dishes to set the table. Even if you work alone, the DW can be left open to receive used vessels and utensils, without interrupting the prep path.

Here is a rendering of the view from the LR sitting in a chair 3’ from the Exterior wall (pool).

If you put 30” pantry on cooktop wall, and put fridge where pantry was, you can hide the cooktop from the LR. You can play with the sizes of the base cabs.

Thank you mama goose! That is a great point about the dishwashing being in a separate part. I am new to IWSF so it is nice to know it won't totally kibash it:)

Marylut thank you so much for putting together the designs! I am afraid that the fridge will not fit very well on that wall between the wall and dishwasher. The first picture looks so good but my husband has his heart set on pulling the oven out further from the wall. The oven is ironically currently in that exact spot right now in our kitchen.
