need help finding a new rug - suggestions??
This is our family room, I would like a rug that anchors the room and I go back and forth on what to do, so I thought I would see what others suggest. The one I have now was chosen prior to the art on the wall. It is too busy with the art and pattern of the fireplace. The room is a work in progress. Also note, I have toddlers so going very light isn’t an option for us. I also attached pics of kitchen bc it is all one open room (living area located in front of kitchen). Thanks in advance!

Comments (20)nicole, wow, GREAT FIND!! I'd have snatched that one up in a heart beat too!!! As for knobs/pulls, I have found a few online sites (google searching for vintage pulls), which so far I have not had to buy from, because so far believe it or not, hobby lobby's inventory has worked well for me, and HL sells some pretty decent looking vintage repo's that when on sale (50%) are very affordable. I have also taken a chest like this and instead of trying to replace/match the pulls, have added glass knobs. here's an example of stuff I have redone and what I did to replace missing pulls: This chest presented a problem in that with the curved fronts, the pulls that I found would not fit properly on the drawer. I considered drilling new holes and placing the knobs that I used (HL) more centered, but I polled many of the dealers in the mall as well as the new owner of this set and she liked them where they are and they really are a very good match. And IRL it looks great (even if the pics dont tell that story as well). I'd just get creative and try to find something to coordinate. If you are lucky enough to find an exact match, that would be great. BUT...that's a tall order. Notice the little periwinkle nightstand, it was also missing a knob on top, so I just changed them out for new glass knobs instead. Comments (12)I had a rug with a pattern cut down/bound several years ago, our local carpet ( not rug) store did this as a service and I think the charge was by the foot. I love it w/yours too. that accent wall really sets off the stone in the fireplace.I'd try it on that large wall, OR, just paint the sides of the fireplace. it will make your artwork pop too
any of these blue grays should work. It will also give some contrast and make that lighter rug show better.try turning your rug the other way.
maybe bring in a few wood items to warm up all the cool gray
You see how they have a chair placed in that pic near the fireplace? I'd also do something like that with yours. get something in a walnut wood w/contrasting color.

I think you'll find your table works better if you place the chairs diagonally from on another.
