First IMO your either do the same cabinet color everywhere and a different counter on the island or all the same counter and a different color for the island cabinets but not both Make sure all your lighting is LED in 4000K that will help with color choice and BTW cream paint color will always have a bit of yellow .,

Thank you! That’s why I went with balboa mist since it’s in the warm greige family. I’m planning to do an island painted darker green the. Dining room with a maple butcher block counter. I can’t find a ton of pictures where people used balboa mist on cabinets. Thanks again!

This is a VERY tricky color question & one in which I wouldn't trust myself or anyone else to call out an answer without studying a sample of balboa mist on wood next to rice grain in your home :) My gut reaction is caution, possible clash. Just make sure to do the homework to save yourself from cabinet woes.

Take a look at BM French Canvas for the white. BM shows French canvas coordinating with Kennebunkport green and Grant beige. The BM Grant Beige looks like it could be very similar to your SW Rice Grain color. You might also consider painting your cabinets the same white color as your white trim throughout the house.

I thought about that but was afraid it would look to sterile and cold painted white. I will definitely look at French canvas. Thank you!!

My goal was to either match the white trim or go far enough away from color to not look like I was trying to match it. I’m scared of any variation of cream because of the yellow undertones. Is there a cream with brown undertones?

have you looked at Pale Oak? tad lighter and less 'taupe' than Balboa

I love the look of revere pewter. It’s enough of a contrast but I’m worried it will be dark and not match the SW rice grain. The thought of repainting the entire house is daunting but I guess I can do that gradually. Pale oak is also an option. I wanted to do antique brass cabinet pulls.

get some samples and paint a few doors! that's the only way you'll know. You're refacing them, so it's not a big deal to paint the doors. (if you can spray them w/a coat of white primer first, it would be better)

Try some samples of white that look like your trim color. With your green and cream walls, green island, as well as your dark furniture, I don't think all white is a bad way to go.

Gotta say this seems bass akward. Your cabinet change will be a once in a life time event..wall color can and usually does change. Find the cabinet color you LOVE as it will be with you FOREVER. If it doesn't work with the walls change them. It is the nature of the beast once you start..things seem to domino...I get you are trying to avoid that but really wall color is not a permanent thing and not something you should design around!

Yeah, I think so too. All the pictures I look at where people DIY cream cabinets or dud to match existing cabinets just don’t look smooth. The professional ones look great! Alas, I’m not a professional. I’ve tried to consult locally and came up dry. I appreciate everyone’s advice!
