Help choosing lamp shades

I have these very pretty celadon crackle Simon Pearce lamps that I bought for a steal. Unfortunately the shades they came with were in rough shape so I didn’t take them. I had been planning to go to a local store and choose in person, but for covid reasons looks like I’ll have to buy online. Any suggestions on shape and color? The lamps are about 23.5” tall.

Yup, learned that the hard way - ordered some Fenchel drum shades from Amazon and they were just utterly and completely wrong. Fortunately they are returnable, just have to haul a giant bulky box to UPS.

bronwynsmom, Thank you for posting the link. I really like that style, and the price is reasonable. Question - It's also offered in antique nickel, and I have nickel fixtures throughout that space and accenting the stove. I haven't any bronze, so I'm curious why that's the finish you suggested. Do you think it's a better choice with the chair? To your eye is it better to mix it up and introduce another finish than to try to match?

Anele, thanks for posting the mirror. I am going to move my DM's lovely mirror. It breaks my heart to do it but my mismatched mirrors have been a thorn in my side for years. I am now looking for a pair of mirrors to replace the ones I have. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg because there is still this little mustard seed of hope that someday I will find a match to DM's mirror. I will then move it back into my br and pass the other mirrors to one of my children. So please keep the mirrors coming in regards to ideas. Thanks again for our help, I appreciate your efforts!

Oh such a cozy room! Just beautiful. I'd pick a table lamp, since you have 2 floor ones already.. And I'd make it totally different..no reason for it, except that I like all the lamps to be different:) And you already clearly love eclectic-so why not to have fun. Just make sure it gives a light you love Because one of mine-a torchiere- was a bit dim and yellow. And we changed it for a bright white. And I found it impossible to read there-it hurt my eyes. So we changed it again for dim and yellow..:) And I'd look for something that you can direct differently..like your black one? I love it by the way. I found an old vintage tole light on Etsy I think..now I can read in bed, at last. Because nice but ambient light that was on the nightstand before didn't work, and overhead light is not enough at some point. I like this small tole light..the only problem it gets really hot, after some time..so I need to remember not to touch the shade when directing it.

They were pleated empire - should have taken the measurements! Oh the carefree pre-covid days...

Pretty lamp. I would have taken the original shades so that I could bring it to the lampshade shop with me! The shades will most likely cost you far more than the lamps did but that’s ok; you will end up with a beautiful pair of lamps! Check and see if you have a lampshade shop in your area; they are wonderful at fitting the proper size and style shade to the lamp base! There is no substitute to having the right fit IMO. Yes it will cost more but how many times have we seen the odd mismatch of a shade bought at Target on a beautiful lamp🤦‍♀️

If you don’t have a lampshade store in your area, a good lighting store may also carry quality shades.

Thank you! We do have an old school lampshade store nearby - hopefully they make it, I know it must be incredibly hard to be a retail business owner these days. The problem is that I’m with my toddler 100% of the time and I prefer to keep her out of any “unnecessary” indoor locations... Looks like I’ll have to coordinate with my husband to get some rare alone time at some point.
And the lamps retail for over $300 each - I figure even if I end up spending $100/shade it will still be a good deal. :)

It really is best to do this in person! Don’t try to buy them online! In the end you will have a very special pair of lamps!!! To me , they are the jewelry in the room and nothing looks better than really good lamps!

I am always on the lookout for quality lamps! I found these two Fredrick Coopers at a consignment shop! Yes the shade cost me a lot but is worth it! The other hasn’t gotten a shade yet, that one will cost more and it needs a very special finial!

Those are absolutely lovely and that shade is just perfection. Now I’m even more excited to make a trip to our local lamp pros, maybe I can figure something out this weekend.
