We didn't put in under cabinet lighting, so the dim glow from the brown globes has that same "night light" glow to them....very soft, very curvy, I think Italian murano glass when I look at them...but they also look retro to me... DH wants "bright" light and masculine....they have lots of other choices at Lowes for these. I liked the square heavy/1/4" thick white glass ones, but they were small too. They had little blue ones, hat shaped ones,black & white stripes...etc... I appreciate ALL your input.....keep em coming....I need help!!! I think that is the best combination (the Lourdes and the Eldridge pendants). I do like the one with the shades as I first chose but it may be a little too contemporary for the space and table and I didn't like it with the pendants. The Lourdes and the Eldridge pendants seem to compliment each other without being too match-y and will look great in your pretty home.

We have a corner sink on our peninsula. Our peninsula has 2 pendants; the corner sink has one recessed light above it. The pendants are controlled by one switch, the recessed light another. The light over the sink is independent of all other lights, recessed or not. Note that the sink light is also quite close to the crown molding. Personally, I think it looks fine. The reasoning behind this setup (yes, it was deliberate), is that when I'm at the sink I only need to have the light above it on, not the pendants, which aren't over it, nor the other recessed lights, which would be behind me and cast a shadow over the sink. I don't know how far apart the lights are (I'm not at home right now to measure), but I do know that the lights work the way they were designed to. I'm happy with them.
