I have3 grown a chile for 9 yrs. I have seen tepins in Mexico that were at least 20 years old. All chiles are perennial.

Hence the reason for number 11 on this list........ Flower drop probable causes: 1. Day temp too high >95F 2. Night temp too low 3. Too much nitrogen fertilizer 4. Too much water 5. Low light levels (reduces fertility). 6. Very low humidity (reduces fertility) 7. Poor air circulation (air circulation contributes to pollination). 8. Lack of pollinating insects. 9. Size of pot Too much mineral in feedwater. Too much grower attention.

I have three pepper plants, two scorpion opera (Trinidad and moruga) and one ghost pepper plant. One of the scorpions and the ghost pepper seem to be turning yellow and are dropping their blooms. My other scorpion is doing fantastic. They all get watered the same, get about 12 hours of sunlight, and are seeing temperatures from 55 F to 90 F, depending on the day or night (I live in central Texas). Any idea what’s going on? I can’t decide if it’s a nutrient deficiency or nitrate toxicity, or maybe it’s something else entirely. This pepper plant is the one doing good. This one is the other scorpion, which has some obvious yellowing. This is my ghost pepper, which seems to be doing better than the other scorpion, but still doesn’t seem to be doing as well as the scorpion in the first picture. Here’s a picture of all three of them, with the ”healthiest“ one farthest on the right, with significantly greener leaves. On a side note, does anyone know why the leaves are somewhat bumpy and crinkled on all of them?

Somewhat sadly, fungicides are mostly preventative. They don't kill fungus once it is established. Gurney's First Start™ Seed Starter is sterile. The ProMix stuff is peat-based, and I think it is intentionally not sterilized, but pretty certain not to be fungally infected. So I suspect that's not the problem. The fact that you have some experience doing seed starting makes this especially strange. I assume that you've kept control of the temperatures. 5 week old seedlings need fertilization. What have you used?
